Patricia Dianne Krenwinkel, also known as Katie, is a supporting antagonist in the 2019 comedy-drama film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. She is based on the real-life cult member of the same name.

She was portrayed by Madisen Beaty.

Biography[]

Past[]

Just like her real-life counterpart, Patricia became a member of the Manson Family, a cult leaded and founded by Charles Manson.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood[]

Patricia first appears in the movie, some time after her fellow cult member Pussycat brings the stunt double of a famous actor, Rick Dalton, Cliff Booth on their ranch. She is present when Cliff beats another cultist, Clem, after he refuses to change the tire in Dalton's car that he pierced.

On 8th August 1969, Katie and three other members of the Manson Family (Charles "Tex" Watson, Susan "Sadie" Atkins, and Linda "Flowerchild" Kasabian) are sent to kill all of the inhabitants of Roman Polanski's house, including a pregnant actress, Sharon Tate. When they are sitting in a car on Cielo Drive street near Polanski's residence, Rick (who is Sharon Tate's neighbour), angry because of their appearance, aproches them and starts yelling at the cult members which forces them to drive of the street. After that, the cultists recognize Rick from NBC's TV show Bounty Law. When they recalled the amount of violence featured in the show, Katie and her associates change their plan and decide to kill Dalton instead of Tate, using the excuse that they are killing people who "taught them to kill". On their way to Rick's house, Flowerchild says that she "left her knife" in the car and goes to get it. However, after she enters the vehicle she drives of, leaving her friends on their own.

After Katie, Tex and Sadie break into the apartament of Dalton, they find there Cliff who is high on acid. Patricia goes to the bedroom and threatens Rick's wife, Francesca Capucci, with a knife, forcing her to go to the living room where Cliff is held at gunpoint by Tex. Stutman reconizes the cultists and when Watson is just about to shoot him, he orders his pit bull, Brandy to attack him. When the dog bites Tex and Cliff throws a can of dog food at Sadie, Katie stands still, terrified by what is happening. As Brandy starts attacking damaged Susan, Francesa punches Patricia but runs away to the bedroom after she thretens her with a knife. After Cliff kills Tex, Katie lunges into him stabbing him in the procces. When Booth notices Patricia's kinfe in his hip, he grabs her head and procceds to slam it into various objects in the house untill her face is totally smashed which results in her death. Shortly after Katie died, Atkins falls into the pool outside, where she is burned alive by Dalton via flamethrower.
