Pazuul is a supporting antagonist in the MMO third-person shooter Warframe.
Pazuul is an Archon who was bonded to the remains of his creator, Erra, becoming the new leader of the Narmer Empire while suppressing the lingering consciousness of his host body. Following the example set by Narmer's late emperor Ballas, Pazuul is intent on rebuilding their dominion over the Origin System, becoming Kahl-175's archenemy in the process.
He is voiced by Antonio Greco, who also voices Erra.
Appearance[]
Being an Archon, Pazuul is a Sentient resembling the head of an animal, him being a ram's skull with an Archon shard piercing from one side to the other. Since Archons cannot function without a host body to control, Pazuul was given the recognizable body of Erra, possessing the same multi-jointed legs and skeletal body as before.

While other Sentients like Hunhow are sophisticated and highly intelligent and the other Archons are more animalistic, Archon Pazuul strikes a middle ground by constantly switching between philosophical preachings and aggressively deranged rants. Rather than being an entirely new personality, Pazuul seems to have taken on the memories of his host Erra and exaggerated the worst parts of his personality, particularly a seething hatred for humanity and blind loyalty to the Sentient cause.
This is in contrast to Erra abandoning Narmer in his last moments, having realized that Ballas merely created Narmer as a means for his own selfish and destructive ends.

Veilbreaker[]
Ballas' death destabilized Narmer and allowed the Origin System to return to a sense of normality, for better or for worse, but it will continue to be a threat as long as even one person wears an active Narmer Veil. Grineer soldier Kahl-175 had one of these devices placed upon him after being intercepted by Erra during the war, but managed to tear it off his face and set out to free his brothers and sisters the Murex ship they were held captive on. Tenno and an Orokin survivor, simply known as "Daughter" from the prestigious Entrati family, flew to the Murex to investigate his distress call. In exchange for helping him, Daughter demanded that Kahl tell her what he knows about the new leader of Narmer: Pazuul.
With their help Kahl, along with some of his brothers and even a Corpus he decided to save, escaped the Murex while Pazuul watched them fly away. Kahl described him as "Body is dead worm (Sentient). Head like animal.", suggesting that the Archon is all that's left of Erra. Kahl then declared that it doesn't matter who or what Pazuul is, he and Narmer have to die for his brothers to be saved, so he will work with the Tenno to do so.
Archon Hunts[]
While Kahl and his team were busy trying to sabotage Pazuul's plans in secret, the Tenno and Lotus used the information procured by their new allies to strike at Narmer's new leadership directly: the Archons. They attacked the heavily fortified Narmer outposts, trying to get leads on the locations of the Archons to destroy them and weaken Narmer's influence. Pazuul took notice of these assaults, contacting the Lotus and trying to guilt her into abandoning her chosen path in one moment, then threatening and insulting her and those she tries to protect in the next.
On one occasion, Erra managed to momentarily free himself from Pazuul's grasp to apologize for his actions before Pazuul takes control again.
Trivia[]
- Pazuul is the only Archon encountered so far who is capable of speech, the others only being able to make animalistic screeches.
- Pazuul's name is likely derived from Pazuzu, a Mesopotanian demon said to be both a destructive wind and protective against other demons.
