Peach Salinger is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Ron) in Season 1 of the Netflix show You.
She was one of Guinevere Beck's closest friends, with a secret to hide. She is obsessed with and crazy in love with Beck, just like Joe Goldberg is. And for years, Peach has been manipulating and stalking Beck, even going as far as to take nude pictures of her when she's asleep. And even drugging her.
She is portrayed by Shay Mitchell in her first villainous role.
Biography[]
Peach Salinger is from a wealthy family and later became a college graduate. Peach is the best friend of Guinevere Beck and secretly has an obsessional crush on her, presumably becoming obsessed after meeting Beck at Brown University. This leads her to take inappropriate sexual pictures and videos of Beck on her laptop without her consent or knowledge.
Peach tries very hard to control Beck's life, stating that Beck "does not know what's best for her." Peach gets extremely worried when Beck is distant from her, once pretending to attempt to take her own life by overdosing on pills for Beck's attention. Beck then comes to Peach's house, and Peach requests that Beck sleep with her for comfort. Beck, feeling sympathetic for the seemingly suicidal Peach, grants her this request.
As a result of her crush on Beck, Peach is extremely jealous and hateful toward Beck's boyfriend, Joe Goldberg. She has attempted to break them up multiple times.
One day, while Peach is running in a park, Joe secretly follows her and attempts to murder her by hitting her on the back of the head with a rock. Peach collapses and begins bleeding out. She ended up in a hospital and was treated in time for her to stay alive.
Peach requests that Beck stay around her house after the attempted murder for comfort. Beck agrees. While there, Peach gets one of her friends, who is a writer, to come and visit. She gets the three of them to digest a drug. They end up on Peach's bed, where Peach begins kissing Beck multiple times. Beck eventually pulls away from Peach and leaves.
Peach requests to Beck that they move to Paris together and gives Beck a week to decide if she will come.
The next day, Beck packs her things and tells Peach she won't be moving to Paris with her. Peach begins yelling at Beck, trying to pressure her into agreeing to do so. She gaslights Beck regarding the kissing incident, claiming that Beck was being "initiative" and she just went along with it because she was her friend. Beck tells Peach to call a security company to protect her and leaves the manor in a cab she had called.
Peach catches Joe hiding on her family's estate and knocks him out. When Joe awakens, Peach aims a gun at him and questions why he has a watch belonging to Benji, Beck's ex-boyfriend. Joe attempts to run away, only for Peach to shoot him in the leg. Joe pretends to be dead as Peach approaches him to check to see if he is. When she turns around, Joe suddenly trips her over, takes her gun, and shoots her in the head. Joe forges a suicide note in Peach's handwriting, but her friends and family don't believe she was suicidal.

Peach is briefly mentioned by Joe while being abducted along with Forty Quinn by two Russians; he initially believed it was because of his murders, and Peach was listed, but it was later revealed to be all an act by Forty.
