Pedro Belenbauza Yamada is an minor antagonist (but serves as the main antagonist in the first two episodes) of the 2008 Japanese animated television series Michiko and Hatchin. He is a priest and the adoptive father of Hana Morenos and the adoptive grandfather of Julio Morenos.

Biography[]

Pedro and his family had at some point adopted Hana Morenos. Although in the 1st episode, he and his family constantly treat the young orphan poorly and easily punishes her for something she's not even guilty of. All this changed when Hana runs off with Michiko, whom storms in through the window on her scooter to rescue the young girl and set out to look for Hiroshi.

Pedro is seen with a pistol in the 2nd episode, attempting to chase down Hana and kill her for insurance money but failed as he fallen into a building injuring him Pedro is finally defeated would later faints after the fall, Pedro and the Belenbauza Yamada family fate were left unknown after his defeat.

Personality[]

Contrary to his priesthood - Pedro is cruel foster father, as he freely drops Hana's breakfast food (when he noticed the burned part of an omelette) and forces her to recook their meal again. He's shown to be a subtle manipulator, telling Hana that she is fortunate to live with them and everything he does is what's best for her, when in reality he treats her as a slave.

In the 2nd episode, he is shown to be a cold hearted person - showing absolutely no qualms about the idea of killing Hana to collect insurance money.

Trivia[]

  • Pedro attempted to cross the Moral Event Horizon (moreso than the rest of his family) by threatening to kill a young child like Hana, but failed.
    • If he did killed Hana it would show how evil Pedro would be.
  • Unlike the rest of his family (who outright abuse and degrade Hana Morenos), he prefers psychological abuse.
  • He never met Julio (Hana's Son), due to his defeat.
  • It's unknown why he and his family were abusive to Hana.
