Margaret "Peggy" Sykes is a major character in Season 1 of Pennyworth. She is played by Polly Walker.
History[]
Peggy is described as one of London’s most proficient dominatrix’s. She has live in male slaves, who serve her in addition to those that pay for her services. One day, one of Peggy’s slaves delivers her a letter from her sister, Bet. She is scheduled to be executed, so Peggy rescued her and takes her to the home of one of sheer submissive a “Lulu”, also making his wife submit to her commands. Bet tells Peggy she wants to go back to London and reveals she has a crush on Esme, the woman she held captive much to Peggy’s dismay and possible disgust.
Peggy is making her slaves clean, but is distracted by Bet playing music and demands she turn it off. Bet reluctantly does and tells Peggy she is bored. Peggy snaps that she isn’t being a grown up, and tells her not to bother her while she works. Bet mocks Peggy’s profession as a dominatrix is and Peggy suggests Bet to go out and work. Bet snaps that she was just recently almost executed, and Peggy reminds her that she saved her and to show respect. Bet turns the radio back on, resulting in a brief fight between her and Peggy that Peggy wins.
Peggy accompanies Bet to London when Esme Winikus is murdered. She reluctantly takes in Bet’s former boss James Harwood, and gives him the name Ginger when he rejects his old identity. James eventually remembers who he was and asks Bet and Peggy to accompany to him to London, which they do. Peggy and Bet are asked by Harwood to accompany him to meet with the No Name League where they are almost assassinated.
Peggy and Bet then kidnap the Queen of England and hold her captive at the Spices’. In a stand off with Alfred Pennyworth, Peggy gets Bet to surrender. They are both then arrested alongside Harwood and Frances Gaunt and imprisoned in London’s dungeon. Peggy notes their situation doesn’t look good.
