Metas, also known as the Penetrator, is a minor antagonist and boss in Demon's Souls, as well as its 2020 remake of the same name. He is a demon that manifested as a knight wielding a long sword.

Biography[]

Metas was a member of King Allant's circle of elite knights. He was known for his long sword that he used to impale his foes. When Allant unleashed the demons across Boletaria, Metas stayed at his guard of Boletarian Palace, killing both demons and men who sought to reach Allant, unaware that it was a copycat demon. At some point, Metas was corrupted and turned into the demon known as the Penetrator.

He first appears at the end of 1-3, where he kills a Fat Official from outside the Fog Wall simply for standing in his way before facing the player. The Penetrator can be a difficult boss to face as he tends to quickly follow up with his attacks. His attacks include circular slashes and lunges when there is a distance between him and the player. When his sword glows blue, the Penetrator will deal both regular and magic damage to the player. His most dangerous move can be telegraphed by pulling his sword back before thrusting it at the player, impaling them with massing damage. It can be evaded by rolling to the side. The Penetrator's attacks can destroy the surrounding statues in the arena. The debris can be used to block his attacks, allowing the player to heal or maneuver around to counterattack.

Defeating the Penetrator will make him drop the Silver Demon's Soul.
