Oswalda Cobblepot, also known as The Penguin, is a major antagonist of the 2024 DC animated noir superhero series Batman: Caped Crusader, appearing as the main antagonist in the very first episode of the series "In Treacherous Waters."

She was voiced by Minnie Driver, who also played Lady Eboshi in "Princess Mononoke" and Snoot in "The Cleveland Show."

Appearance[]

Oswalda is depicted as a rather large woman, with a muscular, yet curvy physique, and hooked, and almost beak-esque nose. She also wears purple eyeshadow, and red lipstick.

In terms of attire, as she was first seen, she donned a black tailcoat with a royal purple collar, a white dress shirt, black bow tie, lavender waistcoat, pants in a similar colour to her coat lapels, black heels, white gloves, small white earrings, and to top it off, a black flat-brimmed top hat with a purple band around it, and monocle.

The outfit she sports after this is a black and purple dress, with long black gloves, and a high collar of lavender feathers, topped off with a similar top hat, except one that is slimmer, with a wider brim, and her signature monocle.

Inside of her private Dressing Area, she sports a pink robe, with fur cuffs and collar.

And of course, like other variations of the Penguin, she is rarely spotted without her signature black umbrella, which conceals a blade inside of it's tip.

Personality[]

The Penguin is a ruthless and cold-blooded criminal, with a penchant for violence and a wicked sense of humor, willing to rid herself of anyone who stands in her way, including either of her two children, Ronald and Aaron Cobblepot. She is very smart and cunning, and conceals herself to the public eye under her charming, and show-woman act, which includes singing and dancing in her club, among possibly other things, even willing to play the card of attraction, as seen when she told Officer Flask that she would let him frisk her any time.

Season one[]

Batman investigation to figure out who started war Rupert Thorne clever enough cover their track. Only crime boss not only responsible three explosion in two weeks and want a gang war on Gotham. Batman sneak in Gotham police department searching the file founded person who working with crime boss Wilford Lee. He drunk about to heading home then suddenly Batrope caught his leg he lifts upside down Batman demanding him who behind the explosion thus someone pay him keep it secret train almost here Lee had no choice give the name is Penguin. At Iceberg Lounge Boat Penguin entertaining give applause her best sing after done she see her friends Arnold Flass and Harvey Bullock even tell joke if Bullock last cop in the city Oswlda give below kiss bid Fewell. She dresses fancy and see Rupert Thorne that he wouldn't miss it support local laws his duty and reason why he here one of her sons warning him about explosion that he still alive today

Penguin brings her two boys Aaron Cobblepot and Ronald Cobblepot in a storage room to find out which one of them sold her out the boys being to panic blame each other she stops them for moment she knows who the rat Araon please her he never betrays her she known never hold grudge, but she orders Iggy get rid him put sack in his head put in box dump him in water. See her own son buried in water Araon was her favorite and now Ronald her new favorite unaware he was rat and judged by witness his own brother died he ran away matter of time.

Iggy report to Oswald Ronald gone he the one sold her out meaning he going secret called henchmen's find dead or alive. Ronald ask Barana Gordon for protection knowing his mother always knows it was want him dead they eventually reached police department he revealed and she even got police pay roll ( it was Arnold Flass and Harvey Bullock secretly working Penguin) They called Penguin Ronald custody Gotham police department she slam the phone in rage now secret is out begin the mission to go gang war of Gotham by used giant cannon can hit any Gotham started first target Gotham police department. Cannon is loaded ready to fire Batman arrived just in time stops Penguin. Now only Penguin left standing use her umbrella takes down Batman he caught her umbrella, but her stick rail use it cause to fire believe she got them (unfortunately she unaware everyone left building right on time).

She is the first female incarnation of The Penguin.
This change had lead to fairly negative responses, but Driver's performance was well-received critically
Although not the first version of Penguin to have children, the two she has in show, Aaron and Ronald Cobblepot, are original characters of the series
She is one of few versions of the character heard singing (others include Robin Lord Taylor's portrayal in the show Gotham, and Paul Williams' portrayal in Batman: The Animated Series
- The song she sings is "Bill Bailey, Won't You Please Come Home"
