Penny the Chicken is an antagonist in the episodic survival horror game Dark Deception, serving as a major antagonist in the Chapter 4 level Mascot Mayhem.
She was voiced by Tara Strong, who also voices the Reaper Nurses and Mama Bear.
Appearance[]
Penny is an anthropomorphic, egg-shaped white chicken animatronic with a big yellow beak full of teeth. Like Lucky the Rabbit, she has four fingers on both of her hands and a red comb on top of her head as well as orange legs.
When in her nightmare form, her eyes become red and metallic with her right cartoon eye dangling from her face, and she has a large hole in the left side of her head.
Personality[]
On the outside, Penny appears to be a friendly animatronic mascot, but on the inside, she is a homicidal robot looking to kill Doug. she also seems to be insecure about her looks, since she was furious with Doug for "making her ugly" after he had electrocuted her. She also seems to have a taste for human flesh, alongside Hangry, as she was also interested in trying one of Doug's ribs.
Biography[]
Chapter 4[]
Mascot Mayhem[]
Intro[]
In "Mascot Mayhem", she and Lucky introduce themselves while "Joy Joy Ditty" plays in the background.
Act I[]
She and Lucky will be after Doug. Penny can float and glide for a limited time by using the wings that are attached to her arms. Her unique ability is a long-ranged attack (which she will shoot eggs as a stun attack). In the first zone, Penny can drop from the sky in a random location while Doug is roaming around and collecting shards. She can also even land right next to him.
Penny can be alerted to Doug's location if he goes under a camera without the use of Vanish.
Act II[]
Penny catches up to the player after they attempt to activate the breaker switch. She does not notice the oversighted wet electric hazard, and is electrocuted, turning her into her nightmare form. She is only temporarily deactivated, as her eyes creepily follow the player.
On a similar note, multiple penny clones can be seen in the break rooms of Zone 2, standing idle for unknown reasons.
Act III[]
Penny catches up with the others and proceeds to shame the player for ruining her looks and making her ugly, inquiring with distress on who will take photos with her.
During the ambush, Penny will use her eggs and flight to try and stop the player. She follows whoever manages to spot them through the cameras.
Penny is taken out by the crusher alongside Lucky and Hangry, and is reconstructed into Joy Kill by Malak. Penny notes with enthusiasm about her new look, and then doubles down on the player. She even humorously asks Hangry to let her try some of the mortal's ribs. Penny's egg throwing ability is given to Joy Kill as a means of stopping them, but it's not entirely enough to keep them from escaping.
Final Act[]
Despite the player's efforts, Joy Kill stops them at the portal, and a clone Penny assaults them alongside clones of Lucky and Hangry. Clone Penny only speaks her goodbye to the player when Malak marks them.
After Mascot Mayhem[]
Penny spawns from Malak's clone as a nightmare at eighth portal, Bearly Buried. She doesn't do anything except just stand there during the cutscene but she ultimately gets banished with the rest of the enemies after Bierce unleashes the power her binded ringpiece.
Chapter 5[]
It has been confirmed by the producer that Joy Joy Gang will appear again in Chapter 5 against Doug. It's currently unknown what they will do, however there might be possibility where they will meet their doom.
