Peregrine, also known as R, is a major antagonist in the Harry Potter video game Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. He was a father of the two protagonists Jacob and his sibling, and the leader of the Dark Wizard cabal, known as R.
Biography[]
Just like many other wizards and witches, Peregrine attended Hogwarts and when he became an adult, he married a woman and they had two children, a son Jacob and unnamed child, who was either male or female depending upon the players's choice. Peregrine also participated in the Great Wizarding War and nearly lost his wife, which terrified him. Some time later Peregrine abandoned his family and joined the criminal organization of dark wizards, known as R or cabal, before eventually becoming their leader. He started seeking the artefacts of the ancient wizard Dai Ryusaki, because he wanted to use them against the corrupt Ministry of Magic.
Later in the game, during 1990-1991 years, Peregrine introduced himself to his younger child after Jacob's sibling was lured into the Shrieking Shack by Verucca Buctorn-Snyde. Leader of R offered Jacob's sibling to join his organisation and find Dai Ryusaki's artefacts together. Peregrine apologised to his son or daughter for the murder of their best friend Rowan Khanna, who was killed by Peregrine's underling Patricia Rakepick, and revealed to his child and his friends that R didn't pursue evil intentions, but only sought to punish the corrupted Ministry of Magic. Some time later, Peregrine met with his child's mentor Albus Dumbledore, and told the headmaster of Hogwarts about R's noble intentions. Peregrine also met the Circle of Khanna in the Three Broomstick Inn and also revealed to them the corruption of the Ministry.
Later, Peregrine met with his son or daughter in the Shrieking Shack and had his child practice Legilimency on one of his friends, but Jacob's sibling managed to escape and apparate himself/herself and his friends out of the room. Later, Peregrine met Verucca in the Knockturn Alley and started quarrelling with the witch for the incident that happened previously. They started fighting and Verucca wounded Jacob, when he tried to interfere. From that point Peregrine sought his revenge upon Verucca. In the finale of the game's final mission, Peregrine and his minions fought the Circle of Khanna on the Viaduct bridge, and his son's friends defeated his underlings, but Peregrine managed to escape. He encountered Verucca, who declared that she would now assume the leadership over cabal, and his younger child protected their father and duelled Verucca, before eventually defeating the witch. However, Verucca managed to escape before blasting Peregrine off the bridge, presumably killing her former superior, because Peregrine didn't have his wand.
