The Decepticon Supersoldiers, also known as the Perfect Decepticons, are major antagonists of Transformers: Cyberverse. They serve as the final adversaries of Season 3 and are the main antagonists in the series' TV film finale, which shares their name. These supersoldiers were created by Megatron X after his victory in the Great War. He utilized the Allspark to bring them to life, but they were later reprogrammed to act as his mindless slaves, driven by a desire for dominance. Following Megatron X's death, the Perfect Decepticons began to wage war against one another in a bid to claim leadership. Eventually, Tarn emerged victoriously, assuming the role of leader with the help of the Cortex Helm.
Biography[]
Past[]
These were individual beings brought to Cybertron in bodies designed by Megatron X. He killed Optimus Prime in the early stages of the war, claiming the Matrix of Leadership for himself before wiping out the Autobots. Once all resistance had been eliminated, Megatron X created his perfect race of warriors and discarded the "unnecessary" Decepticons, leaving only a handful alive, including Astrotrain and the Insecticons. To make his perfect soldiers as invulnerable as possible, Megatron X engineered them to be super soldiers. However, due to their individuality, he then mind-wiped them to turn them into mindless slaves who would obey only his will. With this plan successful, Megatron X saw no further use for his old Decepticons, having his Perfect Decepticons eliminate them. This left only a few survivors: Astrotrain and three Insecticons. Eventually, these survivors were rescued by the original Megatron, who also stole the Matrix of Leadership from Megatron X, which he had taken from Optimus Prime before killing him. Following this, Megatron X ordered his Perfect Decepticons to prepare for an invasion of the main universe.
Season 3[]
The Perfect Decepticons make their debut at the end of "Silent Strike", having already breached the Cybertron of the main universe and started their battle, which continues until the next episode, "The Other One". After the 2 Matrixes combine their powers and empower both Autobots and Decepticons, the Perfect Decepticons start being knocked out and be sent into Unspace, to which Megatron X enters the battle to kill his main counterpart and reclaim his Matrix. About to insert the Matrix once again to his body, Megatron X has the Perfect Decepticons attack Bumblebee and corner him when he snatches it away from him. The Perfect Decepticons were then forced to flee after Megatron X was in a frozen state after his Matrix was destroyed by a fragment of Windblade's spark and frozen by Optimus Prime's Matrix.
Perfect Decepticons[]
After Megatron X's death, the supersoldiers sought revenge on Astrotrain. However, infighting broke out among them due to their programmed need for dominance in the absence of a leader. One of the supersoldiers, who had somehow developed a sense of individuality, named himself Tarn. He lured his battling comrades into the main reality, deceiving the Autobots into leading him to the Cortex Helm. The plan succeeded, and Tarn used the Helm to alter the supersoldiers' programming, making them loyal to him. Tarn then employed the supersoldiers to enforce his rule, hunting down dissenters and forcing Optimus Prime into brutal deathsport matches against increasing numbers of supersoldiers. However, Optimus was ultimately rescued by a united force of Autobots and Decepticons, who fought the supersoldiers in an abandoned Cube arena. Although the supersoldiers initially gained the upper hand, the battle ended when Soundwave recovered the Helm and used it to reprogram the supersoldiers before sacrificing himself to destroy Tarn. Thanks to Soundwave's reprogramming, the supersoldiers were granted free will, leading them to choose to lay down their arms and remain on Cybertron as citizens alongside their former enemies. Later on, several supersoldiers were seen attending Soundwave's wake, joining together to toast his memory.
Trivia[]
- Their designs were based on Tarn from Transformers: More than Meets the Eye, to which upon changes with the plot on The Perfect Decepticons, the Cyberverse version of Tarn became a member of the race.
