Perry Cannavaro is the secondary antagonist of the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode "Jersey Breakdown". He is a strip club owner and human trafficker who runs a sex trafficking operation throughout his strip club chain.
He was portrayed by Chazz Palminteri, who also portrayed Primo Sidone in Analyze This, Manfredi Sinatra in Law & Order: Organized Crime, Mr. Walken in Little Man, Smokey in Stuart Little, Buster in Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure, and Santino "Sonny" LoSpecchio in A Bronx Tale.
Biography[]
Perry Cannavaro is the owner of a chain of strip clubs in which he uses to run a sex trafficking operation. He primarily targets young runaways, seeing them as the easiest. Cannavaro is business partners with corrupt attorney Bobby Masconi, who helps to facilitate the trafficking and prostitution of numerous girls. Cannavaro hires underage waitress and teenage runaway, Clare Wilson. Masconi indulges in the prostitutes at Cannavaro's clubs and one night while drunk, sexually harasses and rapes Clare. Cannavaro covers up the rape, as Masconi is Cannavaro's legal insurance that allows him to keep his sex trafficking ring going.
When the police investigate Clare's case and question Cannavaro, he pretends he is out to help his employees and denies knowing who the rapist was. Even as it become clear that Cannavaro knows the truth, he still refuses to name Masconi as Clare's rapist, so that he can keep his business going.
The police, health department, and other local and federal agencies have a siege through Cannavaro's night club, much to his anger and protest and they arrest him on sex trafficking charges. While imprisoned, he initially continues to refuse Masconi, hoping the charges will be dropped, but upon learning that corrupt judge, Daniel Doolan, who Masconi blackmailed into being his accomplice, had killed himself, Cannavaro sells out Masconi and agrees to work with the police and give them other names of those involved.
Personality[]
Cannavaro is a manipulative, charismatic, ruthless, and cruel man, trafficking countless girls and forcing them into prostitution without remorse and covering up the rape of his underage waitress. He pretends to be a caring man who look out for his employees, when in reality, he is only in it for the money.
