The Persuader is a minor antagonist in season 8 of the TV series Smallville. He is a villain from the distant future who travels back in time to prevent Clark Kent from becoming the hero known as Superman. He is also an enemy of the Legion of Superheroes.
He was portrayed by an uncredited Fraser Aitcheson.
Biography[]
Backstory[]
At some point in his life, the man known only as Persuader became a radicalized xenophobe who joined the Human Supremacist Movement. His activities with the group led to him getting into conflict with the Legion, which consisted of many aliens.
Knowing that Earth's open arms towards aliens were caused by Superman, Persuader stole a Legion flight Ring and traveled from the future back in time intending to kill Clark Kent before he could create the legacy that will inspire Earth to welcome aliens in the future.
Arrival in 2009[]
Persuader arrived in the year 2009, at the Kent Barn following Doomsday's recent attack on Chloe Sullivan and Jimmy Olson's wedding. He used his long-handled Atomic Axe to smash a chest, destroying the Phantom Zone crystal that would have allowed Clark to defeat Brainiac.

Clark immediately arrived afterward and asked the assailant who he was and what he was doing. The Persuader suddenly attacked Clark using his axe to cut his abdomen causing serious damage.
Clark was thrown back and landed mortally wounded on the floor. As Persuader was about to strike Clark again with his weapon to kill him Legionnaires Rokk Krinn, Imra Ardeen, and Garth Ranzz arrived just in time to stop him from finishing the job.
Cosmic Boy removed his Axe with his magnetism powers, Saturn Girl froze him in his place with her telepathy and Lightning Lad disabled him with a blast of lightning.
After they rendered the Persuader unconscious, Rokk removed the Legion ring from the villain's finger, causing him to return to the future.
