Phil Bushey is a major antagonist of the 2009 Stephen King novel Under the Dome. He used to be the husband of Sammy Bushey and later became religious fanatic with the effect of meth.
Phil used to be married to Sammy Bushey . He used to sell drugs to some of the people of Chester's Mill. He was implied to be a nice person who loved his wife.
Later he started doing meth and become a part of Jim Rennie's drug operation. He started to cook meth in the storage barn of WCIK using the stolen propane. Being so close the meth drove him insane. He left his family and became an unhinged person who believed he was a soldier of God tasked to bring wrath. He started calling himself Chef and builded up a bomb that would create a massive fire.
Under the Dome[]
When the Dome fell Phil saw this as a sign from God. He started to prepare the bomb. When Jim Rennie sent men into the storage barn to check on propane he saw this as a threat and prepared fire arm and weapons.
Later, a grief stricken Andy Sanders( Town of Chester's Mill First Selectmen) who lost both his wife and daughter under the Dome came to him to tell about Sammy's passing. Andy then joined Phil as a '' soldier of God''. On the Visitors Day nearly half of the town met with their family from the other side of the Dome, Jim Rennie sent a raid to the storage barn to collect all propane. Phil and Andy called them '' the bitter men'' and were prepared to kill them. When they come Phil and Andy killed of all of them but one. Together they activated the bomb just before they got gunned by the survivor of the raid.
A massive fire started that killed !968 people and burned down most of the town.
Personality[]
Phi '' Chef'' Bushey was smart, cunning and resourceful. He was also deranged and mentally ill. He was a deeply religious person and a fanatic. He always recited scripture and burned a whole town thinking it was God's work.
