Phil Collins is a character in the American cartoon series South Park. He is based on the real-life musician of the same name. He was voiced by Trey Parker in both of his appearances.

Biography

He first appeared in the South Park episode "Timmy 2000", in which the winner of the Battle of the Bands gets to open for Collins' concert. Collins, who in the episode is always seen clutching an Oscar, is upset with the Lords of the Underworld because of the way they use Timmy in their band. He successfully breaks up the band by convincing Skyler that Timmy is stealing his thunder. He allows Skyler's new solo band (Reach for the Skyler) to perform at his concert. After the kids are taken off Ritalin at the festival, Collins is promptly booed off stage. While the Lords of the Underworld begin playing, he is thrown around in the audience and his Oscar is shoved up his ass.

Personality

His crossed eyes and speaking mannerisms are used to imply that Collins might be mentally handicapped to some degree.

Trivia

  • At the concert, Collins sings a parody of "You'll Be in My Heart," as the creators' revenge for "Blame Canada" from South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut losing the Oscar to Collins - the reason being that, while Stone and Parker were prepared to lose the Academy Award for Best Original Song, they were not prepared to lose it to Phil Collins.
  • It was mentioned that Phil Collins divorced his wife via fax and married a 27-year-old, which was based on a rumor surrounding the real Phil Collins.
  • Collins later returned in the episode "200" as one of the celebrities suing the town. He and Jared Fogle were sent by Tom Cruise to pick up Muhammed, but they were killed when their limo was blown up by Ginger Kids.
