Biography[]
Framing Bob[]
Phil worked undercover as a CIA agent and was partners with Bob Stone. Phil and Bob investigated an anonymous terrorist known as "The Black Badger", who stole satellite encrypted codes. When Bob got off the elevator and told Phil "I'll see you on the other side", Phil seemingly died in the exploding elevator. In reality, Phil faked his death by rigging explosive blood bags and escaped out the elevator shaft.
Because of Phil's "death", the CIA suspected that Bob was the Black Badger and that he killed Phil to cover up to his tracks. Unable to clear his name, Bob became a fugitive from the law and seeked Calvin Joyner_his old friend from high school_to hide him from the government.
True Colors[]
Bob and Calvin found out that the Black Badger plans to sell the satellite codes to the highest bidder. Bob meets with the buyer pretending to be the Black Badger, but then Phil shows up revealing he's alive and the real Black Badger. A shootout breaks out at the meeting, during which Calvin recovers the codes and escapes.
Death[]
Phil eventually catches up to Calvin on a bridge, but Bob follow pursuit to save Calvin. Just as Bob starts to overpower Phil, Calvin gets a hold of Bob's gun and accidentally shoots Bob in the ass, allowing Phil to knock him out with a swift kick to the face. Calvin runs out of bullets and throws the gun at Phil, who then catches and reloads it. As he holds Calvin at gunpoint, Phil reveals how he faked his death to frame Bob for his crimes. Calvin distracts Phil by trying to do "The Golden Jet Flip" that he used to do in high school, but he fails at it and hits the ground painfully. Regardless, the distraction was enough for Bob to regain consciousness and he kills Phil by ripping his throat out. He then dumps Phil's corpse in the river, finishing with the same line he gave him in the elevator ("I'll see you on the other side").
Trivia[]
- His last name is never mentioned in the film. It was only revealed in the credits.
