Biography[]
Phil appears during a cutaway gag bought on by Peter Griffin, who compares his new friends making fun of him behind his back to a "nasty pack of wolves". The scene cuts away to Phil, who is told by his friend that when all the wolves go to howl at the moon that evening, they plan to say "Cock-a-doodle-doo" like a rooster instead of howling. Phil questions this, but is assured by his friend that he just "doesn't want him to look stupid". When they all go to actually howl at the moon, Phil makes rooster noises at the moon, prompting insults and laughter from his friends, angering Phil.
Phil returns to his home, drunk, and is greeted by his son and wife, the former asking how howling at the moon was. Phil lashes out at his son and scolds his wife for not putting him to bed yet, resulting in his wife kicking him out of their home for being a drunkard. While walking down the street, Phil comes across a junkie who asks him if he wants to do heroin.
Immediately afterwards, Phil is working the streets dressed in drag, presumably to pay for his heroin addiction. A car pulls up alongside him and Phil approaches it, but is shocked when he sees his friend and the other wolves inside the car. The wolf who tricked him looks remorseful for a second, but then mocks Phil by saying "Cock-a-doodle-doo", prompting Phil to whip a pistol out of his handbag and murder his former friends. Phil calms down and collapses onto his knees, sobbing.
It's revealed that the cutaway was actually a passion project by Peter called "Cock-a-doodle-doo". Peter reveals that when the producers of Family Guy gave him the opportunity to shoot the movie, he saw nobody better for the role of Phil than Glenn Quagmire. Glenn's only commentary is that Peter "gave him a beer that tasted funny", and then Glenn woke up in a wolf suit and lipstick.
