Hi. This is Thesecret1070. I am an admin of this site. Edit as much as you wish, but one little thing... If you are going to edit a lot, then make yourself a user and login. Other than that, enjoy Villains Wiki!!!
Philana was a member of a group from Sahndara, who called themselves the Platonians, claiming to follow the teachings of the Greek philosopher Plato. The group used mass eugenics to select thirty-eight to form an allegedly perfect society. Philana stopped aging at 30 but lived for at least 2,300 years. She married the group's leader, Parmen, when she was 117. They settled on a planet they called Platonius, where the local food caused them to develop psychokinetic powers. As a result, they performed little physical activity, becoming decadent.
When Parmen fell ill as a result of an infected cut, no-one knew how to deal with it and they were forced to call the Enterprise for help. Philana greeted Captain Kirk, Commander Spock and Doctor McCoy on their arrival and explained the group's history to them, while McCoy treated Parmen. Knowing what was planned for the newcomers, Alexander, a Platonian with stunted growth who had never developed psychokinetic powers, attempted to protest to Philana but she used her powers to force him to put his own hand in his mouth, telling him he talked too much.
Sure enough, once Parmen was cured, he and Philana presented the trio with gifts, then demanded McCoy stay with them to be their doctor. When he refused, they kept the Enterprise in orbit with their powers and subjected Kirk and Spock to a number of humiliations, including forcing the emotionless Spock to laugh. Philana urged Parmen to kill the pair but he realised McCoy would never join them if that was the case.
Philana took part in a final festival to welcome the unwilling McCoy to their ranks. Kirk and Spock, now paired with Lieutenant Uhura and Nurse Chapel, were forced to perform for them. However, Philana was cowed when Kirk and Spock revealed they now had greater psychokinetic powers, having duplicated the chemicals that gave the Platonians their powers, and the group were powerless to object as the Enterprise crew and Alexander departed.
