Those who lost their will to fight, can't even think about measuring their strength against a new opponent. You can establish yourself above them without even a fight. Just by shoving your fist into a fallen competitor's face. The hopelessness of a competitor who's completely accepted his impending fall. This is the perfect time to establish your dominance.
~ Phillip's thoughts, showing his underhanded method of gaining power.
Just give them enough bait, and they do everything they can to look good in my eyes. All I have to do is keep pumping out my units. And sail away. What's important is to continually harass the enemy until they finally give in. An infinite loop. I'll make sure to burn it into your brain and show you what psychological torture is until you come begging for forgiveness at my feet.
~ Phillip Kim's thoughts about recruiting Chad Jang for his group.

Phillip Kim is an influential supporting antagonist in the Weak Hero webcomic. He is a first-year student in Eunjang High School, residing in Class 1-1. Despite his inability to fight, he uses his wealth and manipulation to boost his credibility and become a member of the Yeongdeungpo Union who can stand alongside Donald Na.

Appearance[]

Philip Kim has a slender body, similar to Gray Yeon's build. His physique was not considered special compared to the others his age. Philip is mostly seen with a mask on and is dressed with designers brands like Off-White and Gucci that was bought by his parents.

Personality[]

Philip Kim is a devious brat with a natural talent for scheming, as seen by how he rose through power in Imdo Middle School through lying about defeating three bullies. He relies on underhanded methods to look strong such as beating an already knocked out person. He is a coward with a bad reputation for using the money that was given to him by his parents and the influence he attained to commit unlawful deeds.

Philip's subordinates that followed him were all bribed and/or tricked by him to do his bidding, since Philip hates having to do things himself. Philip thrashes his anger toward his subordinates when things go south for him or when he doesn't get his way. He cuts off anyone who he deems unusable and pretends that they do not exist. For example, once Philip Kim got the news that Teddy Jin was beaten by Gray Yeon, he immediately stopped being friendly with Teddy.

Despite his riches and ability to regularly spend money, Phillip is also just as greedy with money and always expects something in return. This is seen by how he demands buys a drinking room for Wolf Keum and expects more than just a simple "thanks." He has a thirst for ruling and being able to stand shoulder to shoulder with Donald Na in the Union.

After his defeat at the hands of Gray Yeon, he falls into a depression and is treated no differently from the kids he always bullied for no reason. He still holds onto the belief that he can rise back to power, however, despite his friends not believing so. He will even punch one of his friends for doubting in him.

Philip starts to change however when he slowly befriends Gray and his group, opting to abandon his desperation of rejoining the Union and opting to help out Eunjang by defeating them, using multiple of his connections as help. During the fight, he still proves himself to be a coward although he shows confidence against, Naksung, another weakling and handles him in a fight.

Biography[]

Phillip grew up in a wealth family, being born to parents in the real estate company. Two years ago, in middle school, he was confronted by Jonathan Moon and his two goons. Due to his lack of power, he tried talking to buy some time. Luckily, he was unintentionally saved by Wolf Keum who Jonathan had pissed off by blocking his exit. Wolf then sadistically beat the three bullies. Phillip asked for Wolf's name but Wolf said he didn't need to know. Phillip then took a picture of the beaten bullies and acted like he took them down himself, naming this event the "Conveince Store Massacre." He would join the Union after this and saw Jimmy Bae and Jack Kang at the meeting, wondering who they were.

He took over Imdo Middle School throughout the years and eventually became an influential figure at Eunjang High School. After his cousin, Royce Na was beaten by Gray Yeon, he tried to fight him but was interrupted by Ben Park. Phillip was extremely embarrassed by this and manipulated Jimmy Bae to get revenge on Ben. This ultimately failed, however.

Phillip would later befriend sadistic bully Teddy Jin and his right-hand Chad Jang. He offered to by them a drinking room and had a fun time. It is later revealed also offered to buy Wolf a drinking room with his friends as repayment for saving him two years ago. He felt disappointed when all he got from Wolf was a simple "thanks" but continued to try to earn his way into the Union.

He would continue to try to take down Gray Yeon, first using Teddy Jin. When this failed, however, he immediately stopped treating Teddy like a friend and completely dropped him. Phillip would later confront Gray in the cafeteria. He tried to talk his way out of fighting but failed and got beaten instantly by the boy. He later tried to beat up random students to keep his reputation but was exposed as a coward by Teddy. After this, Phillip lost his reputation and fell into a depression.

Quotes[]
