~ Philly's last words before being shot by Gigi Cestone. |
Philip "Philly Spoons" Parisi is a minor antagonist in the HBO Television Series The Sopranos.
He is the identical twin brother of Patsy Parisi, who is also a caporegime of the DiMeo Crime Family and a high-ranking member of Junior Soprano's crew.
He was portrayed by Dan Grimaldi, who also plays Patsy Parisi in the same series.
Biography[]
Philip Parisi was born in 1949 in Bloomfield, New Jersey, along with his twin brother, Pasquale aka "Patsy", who was born eleven minutes before him. He is also a distant relative to Tony Soprano, the boss of the DiMeo Crime Family, which both Philip and Patsy become members of. Some time during his time as a mobster, Philip was given the nickname "Spoons". At some point Philly got married to an unnamed woman.
In 1999, Philly becomes aware of Tony attempting to murder his own mother after she and Junior Soprano betrayed him. Because of the shock from the story, Philly spreads this story to everyone he knows, which starts to damage Tony's reputation. After hearing about this information, Tony decides to put a hit out on Philly, which he sends out DiMeo Family soldier, Gigi Cestone to do the job. Another reason for the hit on Philly was due to the war between Tony and Junior, which also caused the deaths of Chucky Signore and Mikey Palmice.
At the Newark Liberty International Airport, Philly is sent to pick up Gigi, who had just come back from a flight from Boston. While driving, Philly brings up the rumor to Gigi, along with informing him about Tony seeing a psychiatrist due to his panic attacks. Eventually, Philly arrives at Gigi's house, to which Gigi then shoots Philly in the head, killing him instantly.
