The Photo Banbara is a Mutant Robot of the Neo-Human Empire Phantom Army and an antagonist in episode 17 of the 1973 Tokusatsu series Inazuman.
He is voiced by Masao Hosoi.
Biography[]
While Goro Watari was on vacation with his friends, the Neo-Humans called him on the phone and requested a meeting. When Goro arrived at the meeting place, Photo Banbara appeared and offered Goro a spot in the Neo-Human Empire, asking him to serve them as his mother had once done. Goro refused and the two fought, with Photo Banbara using his "Time Shutter" ability to capture a photograph of Goro at a specific moment in time. Photo Banbara then returned to a Neo-Human base where he had some Neo-Human scientists crop out Goro's visage from the photo and transplant it onto him, allowing him to assume Goro's form.
As Goro Watari, Photo Banbara robbed an armored vehicle and shot at police officers, leading them to go to arrest Goro. After Goro denied doing anything criminal and fled the scene to avoid being arrested, Photo Banbara stole Raijingo and used it to drive into a child, further sinking Goro's reputation. However, the real Goro later came across the child and after he became injured, tore off his sleeve and used it to make a makeshift bandage for his wound. As the police and civilian volunteers chased Goro, Goro eventually ran into Photo Banbara disguised as him. The civilians were unsure of who was the real Goro at first until the child identified the real Goro, having torn off his sleeve to treat his wound earlier. Photo Banbara then revealed himself and Goro became Sanagiman and then Inazuman to fight him. After stunning Photo Banbara with his lightning bolts, Inazuman blew Photo Banbara's head and arms off before destroying his body, killing him.
