~ Pieck to Gabi |
Pieck Finger is a major antagonist in the Attack on Titan franchise.
Growing up in the Liberio Internment Zone and losing her mother at a young age, she enrolled in the Marleyan military's Warrior program as soon as she was able to since she knew her father had become ill and would not live long without the right medical attention. Pieck did so well that she was chosen to inherit one of the Marleyan Titans, and she was able to get her father the care he needed.
In 845, two years after inheriting the Cart Titan's abilities in 843, and after helping defeating an enemy nation in war, Pieck and Zeke Yeager were placed in Marley to serve as a deterrent against rival nations, while the other Warriors—Reiner Braun, Annie Leonhart, Bertolt Hoover, and Marcel Galliard—were dispatched to participate in the Paradis Island Operation. In 850, Pieck, along with Zeke and a few other soldiers were sent to a reconnaisance mission within the Walls of Paradis. Later the same year, she participated in the Paradis Island Operation, joining her comrades Zeke, Reiner and Bertolt in their efforts to reclaim the Founding Titan.
Four years later, in 854, after her hometown Liberio was raided by Eren Yeager and the Survey Corps, and Marley discovered said attack was orchestrated by her former comrade and traitor Zeke Yeager, she and Porco Galliard were sent by their General to infiltrate the Walls of Paradis Island to locate Eren and retake the Founding Titan, subsequently causing a large battle between the invading Marleyan military forces and the Yeagerists and the Eldian military in Shiganshina District. However, once the Rumbling is started by Eren, she and her fellow Marleyan stragglers team up with and befriend the remaining members of the Survey Corps to stop Eren's rampage and save humanity outside Eldia. Three years later, Pieck serves as a peace ambassador of the Global Alliance.
In the Japanese version, she is voiced by Manami Numakura. In the English dub, she is voiced by Amber Lee Connors.
Appearance[]
Pieck is a short young woman with loose-fitting dark brown eyes, a Greek nose, and long, unkempt black hair that reaches her shoulders. She is dressed in a long trench coat, a white shirt, an ankle-length skirt, and black lace-up boots. As required of all Eldians under Marley's command, she also sports the Eldian wristband on her left arm. Pieck utilized a Survey Corps uniform that she had stolen as a disguise to sneak into the Yeagerists' hideout on Paradis Island.
As a Titan, Pieck stood 4 meters tall on all fours and walked quadrupedally on all four limbs. Materials could be easily placed onto her back because of her long, flat body. She had a long face with a big nose, a small forehead, full lips, and a big mouth. Its long face enabled for the creation and strapping of specialized armor, jaws, and battle machines. It had short, dark hair and lacked any recognizable feminine traits.
Personality[]
It is often demonstrated that Pieck cares for her fellow Warriors and the Warrior candidates, and she is shown to be fairly kind and gentle. She can swiftly figure out a scenario because she is quite intelligent, which Zeke suggests frequently. She is described by a superior as having superior judgement, which is the main reason why the overseers of the Warrior program chose her to inherit the Cart Titan.
Yet, Pieck is typically portrayed as being laid back and highly odd. Being in her Titan form all the time has caused Pieck to develop the habit of walking on all fours when there aren't many people around. She even claims that it feels more natural to curl up on a sofa.
Since she was a little child, she has been devoted to Marley, doing her best to defend the nation's interests while really wanting to see her people freed from the daily suffering they endure. She is also quite worried about the future of the Eldian race as a whole because she understands that the world wants them to go and worries that, as technology advances, they will become obsolete. In addition, she became a Warrior mostly to help her sick father pay for his medical care. She chastised her superiors' approach and showed little resentment toward the people of Paradis Island.
Trivia[]
- Pieck was originally designed to be a middle-aged man named Oliver Pieck, being changed to a young woman later.
