Pierre Carchon is a minor antagonist in the 2009 video game Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars - Director's Cut.
He is a corrupt media tycoon who used his status to manipulate public opinion due to his womanising history and colonial past.
He is voiced by Toby Longworth, who also portrayed Lott Dod in The Phantom Menace, Beep the Meep in Doctor Who and Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Personality[]
Carchon developed a reputation for his womanising personality. It is suggested that some of these interactions were untoward, and that he clearly favoured younger women. Carchon had an elevated sense of ego coupled with a paranoid disposition which meant he often left himself vulnerable when trying to protect himself.
Nico's journal describes Carchon as 'suave and charming', which lives up to his reputation amongst the public.

Carchon was a tall, Caucasian man possibly in his 60s. He had dark brown hair and brown eyes. Due to his wealth and job, Pierre often wore suits.

Pierre was a friend of protagonist Nicole Collard's father, Thierry, in his youth. During this time, Pierre also met Imelda, a British aristocrat, who would later become his wife. At some point, the three worked in Africa where Pierre became associated with criminal business - this resulted in him attacking and razing a local village.
Thierry became aware of Pierre's involvement and reprimanded him for it. It is not stated, but implied, That Pierre had Thierry killed by causing his plane to explode mid-flight. After this, Pierre built his media empire. Through doing so, Pierre harboured the illicit secrets of many individuals, which he used to his benefit in order to protect his reputation and advance his career. Pierre later began a political campaign. Pierre (likely knowing of Nico's identity) agrees to a column interview for La Liberté, a French newspaper which Nico writes for.
Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars - The Director's Cut[]
During the late 1990s in Paris, Nico Collard, a photojournalist, arrives at Pierre's lofty mansions. He is greeted by Pierre and his wife, Imelda, who reveal they knew her father in the past. A loud noise from Pierre's library sees him investigate, leaving an awkward Nico and frosty Imelda alone. A silenced gunshot is heard, which Nico and Imelda investigate. There, they see Pierre's killer, Khan , who escapes after punching Nico unconscious.
