The Pimp is a minor antagonist in the 2011 exploitation film Hobo With a Shotgun.

He was portrayed by Duane Patterson.

History

After arriving in Hope Town in search of work to buy a lawnmower, one of the first people The Hobo meets is the Filmmaker who offers him money to star in one of his films while two homeless people fight behind him. Not wanting to demean himself, The Hobo initially refuses and tries begging on the sidewalk for the money, but comes up mostly empty handed.

Now desperate, The Hobo reluctantly agrees to be in one of the Filmmaker's movies for $50, and he's forced to chew on broken glass and then smile so the viewer could see his bleeding mouth, and the Filmmaker pays The Hobo. After returning to the store selling the lawnmower, three thieves suddenly burst in and hold everyone inside hostage and talk about killing a defenseless woman and her baby out of pure sadism, angering The Hobo enough to murder all three of them and begin his mission cleaning up Hope Town.

The Filmmaker is the first person The Hobo sets his sights on, shooting him in the stomach at his home and forcing him to eat the recording tape he used to film his bum fights in revenge. The Filmmaker pitifully begs for his life as he only wanted to leave Hope town, but The Hobo doesn't listen as he hits across his face with the butt of his shotgun, killing him.

Next, The Hobo finds the Pimp scolding an underaged girl for doing her homework and orders her to go and make him some money before trying to force a kiss on her, but is stopped by The Hobo. He tells the young girl to run home to her family, and then shoots the Pimp's head off with his shotgun.

Trivia

• Along with the man dressed as Santa and the large officer that attempts to rape Abby, The Pimp is one of the most morally corrupt citizens of Hope Town.
• The Pimp, along with the Coke Lord, Slick, and Ivan, are the only characters who did not appear in the original 2007 trailer for the Grindhouse trailer contest.
