You wrote "Ruler's Reach" together. So if you don't want her crushed, you'll write together again.
~ Piniet to King.
I made you a star, and this is how you repay me?
~ Piniet's breakdown.

Piniet is a minor antagonist in the Disney Channel animated series The Owl House, serving as the main antagonist of the Season 1 episode "Sense and Insensitivity". He is a book publisher that tricks people into signing contracts so they make books for him.

He was voiced by Andre Sogliuzzo.

Biography[]

Piniet first appears in "Sense and Insensitivity", where he decides to make King a famous author after reading one of his books. He makes King sign a contract and suddenly becomes a famous author the next day. During an autograph signing, Pinet asks for King's next book, which King gives him. However, Piniet laughs at the book because it's terrible and asks for the real book. After overhearing that Luz helps write the books, he kidnaps her and locks her in a shrinking box with King so they could make the next book. Luz and King then trick Piniet into reading their book and blinding him with a light spell. King then grabs the contract from Piniet and destroys it, freeing him and Luz from the box. Just as Piniet is about to attack them, Tiny Nose arrives and gives him one of a book she wrote. Piniet becomes impressed and focusses on making her a famous author instead, much to King's dismay.

Trivia[]

  • Piniet's possession of a third eye may be a reference to both the mythic concept of the third eye, said to grant extrasensory perception, and the parietal third eye found in reptiles and amphibians.
    • The latter trait may also be based on a tuatara, a reptile native to New Zealand known for the aforementioned third eye. In folklore, tuatara are also regarded as keepers of knowledge and as omens of bad luck, both qualities evident in Piniet.
