~ Thomas trying to to lie her way out of prison |
Piper Thomas is the main antagonist of the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode "Trick Rolled At the Moulin". She is a con artist and serial killer who seduces, robs, and murders men, including Simon Marsden, series protagonist Olivia Benson's half-brother.
She was portrayed by Charlotte McKee.
Overview[]
A former stripper with a criminal record for drug dealing, Thomas uses her beauty and charm to seduce wealthy men into spending lavishly on her. She then has her fellow con artists Despina Johnson and Jade Chen, also beautiful, seductive women, join them for a "party", making their victim believe they are going to have group sex. Instead, they overdose him with a street drug called "Purple Magic" - a mix of Oxycodone, fentanyl, and MDMA - and rob him blind before leaving him to die. They also find "clients" through pimp Felix Tinga, who gets the drugs from crime boss El Gato.
"Trick-Rolled at the Moulin"[]
The NYPD's Special Victims Unit investigates the murder of the ring's latest victim, app developer Xavier Garcia, who was also the abusive boyfriend of Detective Kat Tamin's cousin, Lily Bustani. The ring then murders hacktivist Paul Landry at the Hotel Moulin, the same place that SVU Captain Olivia Benson's half-brother, Simon Marsden, died the year before of an overdose of heroin and fentanyl. Benson realizes that the same women who murdered Garcia and Landry also killed Simon and made it look like an accidental overdose.
The ring next targets Dr. Walter Lindermann, who survives by giving himself Narcan. Lindermann reluctantly incriminates Thomas to the SVU, and they arrest her, along with Johnson and Chen. They search her phone and find contact information for Simon's friend and fellow addict Edward Buddusky, who admits to paying Thomas and Johnson to get high and have sex with them, only for Simon to overdose.
All three women refuse to testify, so Benson reaches out to her friend and former partner, Detective Elliot Stabler, who now works in the Organized Crime Bureau. Stabler tells her that the drugs that the ring is killing their victims with is a knockoff version of a designer drug sold by gangster Richard Wheatley. They also find a recording on Thomas' phone of her robbing Simon after he died. In the end, Thomas, Johnson, and Chen are all imprisoned for life, while Benson and Stabler unravel the drug smuggling operation that they were unknowingly doing business with.
