The Pirates are supporting antagonists in the 2024 Roblox RPG game, Block Tales, serving as supporting antagonists in the game's fourth chapter, Excavation Exploration.
They are a crew of pirates lead by Captain Trotter and Calypso to uncover the Red Sun Temple, and while most of the pirates are neutral to the player as NPCs, some of them are encountered as enemies that the player must fight in order to progress the storyline.

Biography[]
A trio of pirates first appear in Chapter 4 after the player enters the oasis and finds them talking to one another. The pirates chat to each other about assisting Captain Trotter to uncover the Temple of the Red Sun by solving some ancient puzzles to access it and then looting it of its valuables. After they notice the player tuning in on their conversation, they then promptly battle them, but are defeated. The player walks past them into the Pirate Camp to find more pirates talking to each other, and when noticing the player, devise a plan to confront them, via extortion of 1000 TIX from them. They get closer to them when the player states they don't have that amount, but before they can attack them, they are promptly stopped by Captain Trotter, who then orders them to back away from the player.
After the player teams up with Captain Trotter, and his first mate, Calypso to help them solve the puzzles and uncover the Red Sun Temple to obtain the Firebrand, several pirates appear as non-hostile NPCs, where they can be talked to. After solving the final puzzle, a group of four pirates become envious and annoyed with the player for easily solving it and decide to fight them in retaliation. All of them are defeated, and Calypso notices what is going on and ceases them from fighting the player before the pirates follow her to the Temple of the Red Sun. Inside, the pirates discover the different rooms of the temple, and all end up being indirectly killed offscreen by the Temple Guardian, thus marking the start of Captain Trotter slowly losing his sanity over the loss of his crew. Thus after reaching the Firebrand, Captain Trotter steals it to avenge his fallen crew, but ends up being defeated and accidentally killed in the scuffle. With the demise of the entire pirate crew and their captain, minus Calypso, it is likely that the organization dissolved. Despite this, some pirates are still alive back at the camp and in the temple, but it is presumed that this isn't canon.
Three pirates (one normal and two Flintlock) can later be fought on floor forty-four of the pit with a mummy, but this doesn't affect the storyline.
