Plamya, true identity Christine Richard, is the main antagonist of the anime film Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween. She is a mysterious terrorist hailing from Russia who favours bombing her victims.
An utterly sadistic person, Plamya is responsible for causing multiple bombing for absolutely no reason but for her deranged enjoyment, to the point that when Rei Furuya and Jinpei Matsuda managed to stop a one of her bombing , Plamya took great insult to its and swore vengeance against them. At the same time, Plamya proves herself to be a frighteningly competent terrorist who is capable of manipulating the Detective Boys into walking to a bomb trap and having countless liquid explosives stored in the balloons at the Halloween party of Shibuya.
Biography[]
Christine Richard is a terrorist and hitman who has been active in Russia that mainly use her title Plamya. Preferably using explosives, Plamya has claimed many lives in Russia, with the people who had lost loved ones to her formed a group known as Nado Unichtozit that bents on hunting her down. At some point in Japan, Plamya planted a bomb in an abandoned building, but Rei Furuya and Jinpei Matsuda managed to foil her bombing. When escaping, Furuya and Plamya got into a gunfight that ended with Furuya shooting Plamya in the right arm, forcing her to escape. Later, she attempted to detonate the bomb, but it was already disabled by Jinpei. Since they were the only one who managed to disable her bomb, Plamya swore revenge on them. Eventually, Christine would be arranged to be married with Tsutomu Muranaka. She would send threatening letter that is about stopping the wedding with her Plamya identity, as she planned to use it to lure out the Nado Unichtozit.
Years later, Plamya broke free the serial bomber who tried to bomb police department and strapped a collar bomb on his neck. As he was being tracked down by Rei Furuya and Yuya Kazami and cornered him, the horrified bomber begged them for help moment before the bomb exploded, killing the bomber and knocking Yuya out instantly. As Yuya is going to fall off the building, Rei grabbed him and Plamya revealed herself, putting the same collar bomb on Rei’s neck before leaving.
Eventually, one of Plamya’a base got tracked down by the Nado Unichtozit agent Oleg Lavrentyev, but Plamya set her base ablaze to destroy any evidence connected to her. But Nado managed to grab a tablet before escaping. Originally Plamya planned that Oleg will take the tablet to Nado Unichtozit‘a base so she could detonate the bomb in it to wipe her hunters out, but Oleg instead planned to take it to the police station, thus forcing Plamya to detonate it early. However, Conan Edogawa managed to glance at the remains of a note.
As Conan shared his finding of the note with the Detective Boys who letter told this to the police, Plamya heard it, felling paranoid over them possibly tracking her down, she sent them to a bomb trap to kill them, but they managed to escape with Conan even managing to obtain some liquid sample of her liquid bomb.
Eventually, Christine and Tsutomu were at the wedding, but Conan revealed Plamya’s true identity as Christine to the Nado, who then pretended to hold Conan as hostage as they stomped the building and exposed Christine. Christine at first pointed out they didn’t have evidence, but their leader, Yelenika Lavrentyeva pointed out that she couldn’t lift her right arm-the same place she got shot by Rei. Having been exposed, Christine laughs manically as she toss the wedding ring away and revealed a gun, attempting to kill everyone in the wedding room for knowing her true identity before revealing that she wanted to be married so she would be a Japanese citizen to make sure no one could find out she is Plamya. Takagi Wataru was injured by her as a result, but the polices managed to shot Christine’s firearm out of her hand, who then escaped to the rooftop.
On the rooftop, Christine was confronted by Conan who revealed how he found out her true identity. Christine proceeded to gleefully reveal that she had place liquid explosives in all of the balloons in the Shibuya Central Street Halloween party, intending to have the balloons pop so when the liquid merges they will explode, thus killing everyone who know her true identity. Christine proceeded to hop into her escape helicopter, but it’s pilot is revealed to be none other then Rei Furuya. Rei stroke Christine’s injured shoulder and Christine threw a grenade at him, but Conan used a football to knock it away. Christine, now in the helicopter, detonated Rei’s bomb. But as it turns out it was already removed since with the sample obtained by Conan, the policies managed to develop a neutraliser for the explosive, and the real collar bomb is in the helicopter. It then exploded, damaging the helicopter and Rei jumped into it to fight Christine before it crashed. Both of them survived and Christine made one last attempt at murdering Rei before Tsutomu knocked her out and had her in handcuffs. Yelenika tried to shoot Christine on spot by Conan convinced her to give up on revenge and instead help at stopping the liquid from mixing. In the end, with the combined effort of Nado Unichtozit, polices and the Detective Boys, they stopped the liquid from merging and the explosives were destroyed with neutraliser. With that, Tsutomu promised that Christine will be arrested and face justice for her numerous crimes, putting an end at the mad bomber’s carrier once and for all.
