~ Janet showing her obsession over Wander |
Planet Janet is the titular main antagonist of the Wander Over Yonder episode "The Lonely Planet." She is a sentient planet who became infatuated with Wander after he arrived on her surface. However, after discovering that Wander was best friends with Sylvia, she plotted to kill him so she could have Wander all to herself.
She was voiced by Kari Wahlgren.
Appearence[]
Janet's original appearence, as she even points out, is drab and devoid of color. She is a small brown planet covered in craters, much like the Earth's moon.
After Wander arrived, she changed her appearence several times, but her appearences consistently had her with green grass and various forms of alien vegetation on them.
History[]
Wander and Sylvia first arrived on Janet durring one of their many space travels, unaware that she was sentient. Wander, being optimistic, tried to find something positive to say about the drab planet, saying that the planet's emptyness allowed room for growth. Overjoyed that he complemented her, Janet revealed herself by growing a rose out of ehr ground, When Wander asked her about her name, she said she did not have pne, but liked the name Janet.
Sylvia, still unaware that she was on a sentient planet, told Wander that she was ready to leave. Wander intoduced the two. Janet, being clearly jealous, blew a cold chill of wind at Sylvia. The pair started to leave, but Sylvia transformed herself into a beach planet to get wander to stay. Wander swam into an ocean on Janet. Sylvia tried to aswell, but Janet kept moving the water out of the way, causing Sylvia to hit the ground.
She then tranfsormed her suface into a hill, which wander rolled down. Sylvia tried to do the same, but Janet popped a series of rocks and cacti out of the hill, injuring Sylvia. Janet boosted Wabder up with a tree so he could veiw the sunset. Sylvia asked for a boost, but all she recoeved was a miniscule posion-ivy only a few inches of the ground. Janet and Wander talked, and Janet repeatedly changed her surface so Wander could get a look at different types on sunsets. When Sylvia climbed up Wander's tree, Janet changed her atmosphere to a gray sky. After they climbed down, Sylvia's tail swelled up, due to the aformentioned posion ivy.
Later that night, Wander and Sylvia were sitting around the fire. Janet continued flirting with Wander while Sylvia was itching herself. Janet suggested that Wander could stay permanently, but Sylvia rejected the idea. After they fell asleep, Janet created a large mountain separating Wander and Sylvia. When she woke up, Sylvia was shocked and angrily demanded to know where Wander was, and Janet exclaimed that Wander was right where Sylvia left him
Sylvia tried to climb the mountain and return to Wander. She recited Wander and her's montra from earlier in the episode, that there wasn't a mountain too high a valley too low, or a river too wide that could keep her and Wander apart. Unfortunately for Sylvia, Janet took this as a challenge, Janet then raised her mountain, knocking Sylvia off (mountain). Sylvia then fell into a casm (valley), which Janet flooded with water (river).
Meanwhile, Wander woke up and asked where Sylvia was. Janet told Wander that Sylvia went for a climb, a hike, and a swim. Janet made a pancake breakfast to distract Wander. Durring breakfast, Wander kept mentioning Sylvia, causing Janet to flinch in anger. Eventually, Janet got fed up and yelled at Wander. She tried to cover this up by giving Wander a pie. After eating said pie, Wander went to find Sylvia, but he was stopped by Janet.
Janet took Wander to a house she made for them, which was covered in Wander imagery. Sylvia ran toward Wander, but she was catapulted away by Janet. Janet tried to impail Sylvia with rocks before flat-out trying to eat her. Believing that she had killed Sylvia, Janet went back to focusing on Wander. Janet restrained Wander with vines and told him that Sylvia had left him.
She tried to kiss Wander with a venus fly trap-like plant, but she was stopped by Sylvia. The two tried to leave using an orbo-juice bubble, but Janet trapped the bubble with her gravitational pull. She formed numerous volcanoes and tried to shoot molten rock and Wander and Sylvia. Believing that they were going to die, Wander and Sylvia remenisced about their freindship and embraced eachother. Realizing Syliva and Wander's true bond, Janet stopped the molten rock and started crying.
Sylvia and Wander were confused on what happened. They started to leave, but Wander convinced Sylvia to come back for the weeping planet. When they returned, Janet appologized for what she did and confesed that all she ever wanted was freindship. Suddenly, Janet's moon, Maurice, arrived, and the two started flirting with eachother. Wanting to give them space and realizing that Janet was now fully reformed, Wander and Sylvia left to continue on their travels.
