Biography[]
Background[]
At some point, Bette Sans Souci became a meta-human with the power to project explosive forces from her eyes. When she was 12 years old, Bette was captured and locked up in LuthorCorp's Black Creek facility in Montana. The doctors ran tests on Bette everyday to study her powers traumatizing the young woman and emotionally scarring her for life.
Season Eight[]
In 2008, Bette escaped the facility and made her way to Metropolis. Bette's friend Tommy sold Bette out to Tess Mercer who confronted her on a bus. Believing that Tess was going to send her back to Black Creek, Bette panicked and used her powers to blow up the bus, injuring herself and several civilians. Bette was rescued by Clark Kent and taken in by Chloe Sullivan.
Later, Bette lied to Clark about Tommy being the one that blew up the bus and killed the teenage boy before Clark got a chance to talk to him. When Chloe discovered Bette's powers, she tried to kill Chloe, to protect herself. However, she was stopped by Clark and handed over to the police.
While awaiting transport to Belle Reeve, Bette was approached once again by Tess and offered a place on her team of meteor-freak rogues. Though initially skeptic, Bette agreed to join Tess' team adopting the alias Plastique.
Bette trained for months and came to rely heavily on Tess placing a great deal of trust in her, unaware that Tess was merely using her and the team for her own means. After Chloe went on the run with Davis Bloome AKA Doomsday, Tess sent Bette, Parasite, Livewire, and Neutron to find them.
However, Bette along with Parasite turned against Tess upon learning that she had implanted chips in their heads and killed Livewire and Eva Greer. Bette sought to get revenge on Tess by torturing her into releasing the Black Creek files so she and Parasite could find the other Black Creek prisoners and form their own league of meta-humans. Bette's plans were foiled by Clark and Green Arrow whom managed to defeat the villains and save Tess. Oliver later told Clark that Bette and her partner had been incarcerated at an undisclosed location.
Season Ten[]
Bette resurfaced 2 years later having been released from prison by Rick Flag who recruited Bette and the assassin Deadshot into his latest version of the Suicide Squad. Bette traveled to Egypt where she marked Carter Hall with the Squad's chemical tracker so that Flag could monitor his movements.
She was later present when Flag freed Deadshot from prison and the three walked away as Flag remarked, "Let's give these boys a taste of what it's like to mess with the Suicide Squad."
