The Old Man, also known as Player #001, is the main antagonist of the Squid Game 2 spin-off series made by the YouTube channel SML, which serves as a more accurate adaption parody of the original Netflix series. He is a parody of the host Oh Il-nam, being the founder and owner of the Squid Games, who poses as a player in his games.

He is voiced by Anthony Miller.

Biography[]

Not much is known about the old man’s past life, but at least before 2020, likely out of sheer boredom, he created the Squid Games to bring excitement back into his life. Being incredibly wealthy, he offered the winner of each game 400 billion dollars.

Squid Game 2[]

In Squid Game 2 the old man doesn’t appear in the first game of "Red Light, Green Light" for an unknown reason. After the first game ends, the players begin arguing over the number of eggs they will receive. The old man appears out of nowhere and tells them to stop fighting because it is scaring him. Brooklyn Guy becomes suspicious and asks where he has been this entire time. The old man insists that he was present the whole time, even during "Red Light, Green Light". However, Brooklyn Guy and Marvin remain unconvinced. To test him, Marvin asks how many players died in the first game. The old man lies, claiming he does not remember because he is old. Both Marvin and Brooklyn Guy agree that they have never seen him before. Annoyed, the old man tells them to shut up. The old man participates in the next game, Cookie Time, but finds it boring. Instead of completing the task himself, he calls over Square Guard, one of his henchmen, to carve the shape out of his cookie. However, Square Man accidentally breaks the cookie. Frustrated, the old man calls him an idiot, but Square Guard reassures him that he has still won because he is the boss. Afterward, the old man announces to everyone that he has "won" the game and that he is now going to eat boiled eggs. When Marvin asks where the old man is, he responds by stating that he is on top of the beds and that he is very scared, Brooklyn Guy remains suspicious of him.

For the next game, Tug of War, the old man chooses Hansel as his partner. They are set to compete against Jeffy and Chef Pee Pee, with the loser falling into a well of acid. Realizing that he and Hansel cannot defeat Jeffy and Chef Pee Pee, the old man cheats by calling in Triangle Guard to take his place and pull the rope for him. However, due to Hansel’s obsession with beer, Triangle Guard ends up losing and falls into the well of acid. The old man then calmly goes to sleep.
