Player 056 is a minor antagonist of the Netflix K-Drama Squid Game. He is a player in the 37th Squid Games and member of Team O.
He is portrayed by Shin Min-ho
Biography[]
Player 056 is a South Korean man who got into massive debt and decided to join the Squid Game. He woke up in the dormitory with 455 other players. He signed a contract, had his picture taken, and moved on to the first game. He did not panic after Kang Mi-Na’s death and managed to complete the first game.
After the game, he decided to vote O, ignoring Seong Gi-Hun’s warnings. Later, during the Six-Legged Pentathlon, he teamed up with four unknown players, and they managed to complete all five mini-games within the time limit. He voted “O” again and shouted with many other “O” players to play one more game.
He passed the third game off-screen and once again decided to vote O, along with many other players. However, this vote ended in a tie, which meant the players would have to vote again the next day.
Later, he was seen in the bathroom while Thanos and Nam Gyu were trying to convince Park Min-Su to vote O. However, Lee Myung-Gi noticed this and defended Park Min-Su, leading to an argument between him and Thanos, which escalated into a fight between members of Team X and Team O.
At first, Player 056 seemed shocked, but then he quickly started fighting Player 102, pushing him into a toilet stall and kicking him until the fight ended. After leaving the bathroom, Team O realized they had lost more members in the fight and decided to attack Team X during the night.
He started by fighting Player 067, throwing him down the stairs, and later stabbing him to death with a glass bottle. However, Player 197 witnessed him killing Player 067—who was his friend—and decided to avenge him. He ran after Player 056 and used his jacket to snap his neck.
Personality[]
Player 056 like most players of Team O is greedy and remorseless man who is willing to kill others just to win the prize money.
