~ Player 442 to Team X before the bathroom fight.

Player 442 is a minor antagonist in Netflix's K-drama Squid Game. He is a player from the 37th Squid game and member of Team O.

Biography[]

Player 442 was in heavy debt and decided to participate the 37th squid game to win enough money to pay it off. He managed to survive the first three games, and always decided to vote O in order to keep playing.

In the bathroom, during an argument Thanos is having with Lee Myung-gi, Thanos shouts to Team O, saying that the X's want to attack them, with Player 442 instantly defending his team. However a fight later ensues after Thanos punches Myung-gi in the face. Player 442 then tackled Player 145 and started punching and kicking him. However, he was soon grabbed by Player 324 and thrown onto the ground by him. Player 145 and Player 324 are then seen kicking and stomping on Player 442 repeatedly, with Player 442 surprisingly surviving.

After the bathroom fight ends, Player 442 and the other surviving players involved walk out of the bathroom. After realizing team O has lost more people than team X after the bathroom fight, the whole team O organizes a night fight, and they kill several X players to win the vote. That night, Gi-hun's revolt ultimately takes place, but fails.

Player 442 joins Im Jeong-dae and Kim Yeong-sam with other team O members, who are laughing at Gi-hun and mocking him for his failed revolt attempt. For the next game, hide and seek, he ends up in the Red team, and hunts with a group of seekers. He manages to kill a blue player off-screen, passing the game.

At the fifth game, jump rope, Player 096 suddenly started blocking the way along with Gi-hun, in order to share the prize money with him. This made the players on the bridge fatigue and lose time. Player 442 yells to the other players to try pushing 096 away so everyone could pass but Jeong-dae, in desperation, said that if he would let him pass, he would have helped him pushing others, enraging 442, who threatens to kill him as soon as he crosses the bridge.

Suddenly, the player behind him (Player 192) lost his balance and grabbed his shoulder for support, blocking Player 442. Both players got flung by the rope and fell to death.

Personality[]

Like Most Other Team O members, Player 442 is Ruthless, Greedy and Sadistic as he is literally shown hostile towards Team X members, furthermore he is even shown to ruthless towards his own allies as he brutally killed player 418 in Hide & Seek without any remorse. He Voted O despite Geum-ja's Pleas and knowing about jun-hee having a baby and he was even willing to kill Im Jeong-dae and Player 096 in jump rope. However despite all this he seems to have a genuine friendship with Player 192.
