Pluto is the secondary antagonist of Beyblade Metal Saga.

He wants to revive Nemesis to accomplish the will of his ancestor, King Hades, by plunging the world into darkness. He was also Johannes' employer and the one lurking in the shadows of Dark Nebula Organization and Hades Inc. the companies of Doji and Dr. Ziggurat.

He was voiced by Toshiyuki Toyonaga in the Japanese version and Corey Wass in the English dub.

Personality[]

Pluto first appears as a very polite and calm person when addressing Dynamis or even Gingka Hagane. When Nemesis became close to regaining its full power, he began to show a more vicious side.

As a matter of fact, Pluto believes that King Hades' prophecy is the law and will take down anyone in his way. He is willing to help Rago in quest to destroy the entire world, showing his disregard for human life. He is also sadistic, calling Ryuga a worm and feeling happy when he died. He also appears obsessed with his status as Hades' descendant, as he believes that this simple fact makes him superior to everyone else, and that he couldn't lose against Kenta for this reason alone.

Pluto also appears to be mentally fragile or at least unstable. He was quick to panic when Kenta gained the slightest of advantage during their battle and broke down when he lost, even though Nemesis and Rago were still fine. In addition, he doesn't seem to have any sort of care for his comrades except for Rago, as seen with his lack of reaction for Doji's death.

Biography[]

Pluto is a direct descendant of King Hades, an evil and powerful monarch who created Nemesis, a Beyblade from a star fragment containing great negative energy in order to solidify his tyrannical rule. Hades was eventually defeated and prophesied he and his evil creation would return when a new meteorite would fall on earth.

His descendant, carrying his will, built a temple at the point where Nemesis was imprisoned, a temple in which Pluto will reside in the future and possessing a system allowing the redirection of Bey Energy, which would inspire Dr. Ziggurat in the conception of his Spiral Core.

Centuries later, Pluto taking the lead of the cult dedicated to his ancestor, associates himself with people such as Ziggurat and from a general agreement, they sent Doji (the doctor's employee) to Koma Village to seek out L-Drago. Eventually the plan will backfire and Doji would presumably be left in his care.

Sometime later, Dr. Ziggurat created the Spiral Force with the intention to sell it in order to influence the world in the ways of Hades, but he failed as well, and probably died to due to him not appearing with his associates.

Pluto first actually appears in the anime, watching the arrival of the star fragment, knowing the time has finally come he summons Johannes asks him to find the Legendary Bladers and eliminate the messenger Yuki. His disciple succeeds in recruiting two of them: Chris, Aguma, but also Bao and the Beylin Fist bladers. Pluto himself used Hades' curse to brainwash Dynamis the Legendary Blader of Jupiter.

Thanks to their power he awakens Nemesis and sends Doji to search the Child Of Nemesis, Rago. He quickly comes back with Rago, along with Herschel, Keyser and Cycnus, Rago's personal guards.

Rago easily took control of Nemesis, proving his identity, and thanks to the Legendary Bladers fighting Pluto's minion and the system of the temple, he evolves his Bey into Diablo Nemesis, which possesses the power of all Beyblades in the world and surpasses it. Rago destroys the temple before fleeing to fully resurrect the God of Destruction along with Doji and Pluto.

Pluto later watched as Rago summons the lost kingdom of Hades from the sea and they soon began the ritual in the central monument before being interrupted by Ryuga who came to take revenge on Rago for disrespecting him and the Dragon Emperor. Despite Ryuga's surprising resistance, which surprised Pluto a little, he ends up losing to the Black Sun much to the cult leader's pleasure. As Doji fell into a pit, Pluto doesn't seems to care to what happened to him.

Gingka and his group arrived as well and are shocked to see the defeat of their rival. Pluto then mocks them and recall that without Ryuga that cannot create Zeus Barrier (a magical barrier made to imprison Nemesis, that defeated it the first time). However, they still choose to battle Rago. The situation seemed lost until impressed by Kenta's will, Ryuga gives the boy his star fragment before disintegrating.

Kenta, now the new Legendary Blader of Summer, tries to creates Zeus Barrier with the rest of his friends but Rago separates his new Flash Sagittario from the group thanks a dome of dark energy. Pluto engages in a battle with the boy with his Fusion Hades, which according to him was made by King Hades himself. Confident in his victory because of his filiation, he keeps attacking Kenta, until the latter switched to attack mode which violently repels Pluto's bey, the latter starting to panic because of it. Kenta eventually creates a new special move and Fusion Hades is sent flying in the ceiling breaking its Fusion Wheel, much to Pluto's shock and anger who couldn't believe that he, the descendant of King Hades, lost to a mere child. He then stumbled on the stairs and watched helplessly as the Legendary Blader succeeded in reuniting and building Zeus' Barrier. The monument they were in begins to crumble into a dark pit, in which Pluto and Rago fell.

However, a fragment of Fusion Hades' fusion wheel fell during the creation of the barrier, making it imperfect. Nemesis, now free and fully resurrected, fuses with Pluto and Rago into his God of Destruction form. Unlike Rago, Pluto didn't intervene much and he was sent back into the pit inside Nemesis along with Rago, the fall presumably killing him with the God of Destruction.

Trivia[]

  • His name, Pluto, is the name of the Roman equivalent for Hades.
  • Like some of the cast in the Metal saga, Pluto's hair-cut imitate an attribute of his bey, in his case the helm of Hades.
    • To avoid confusion with previous parts, Fusion Hades was renamed Firefuse Darkhelm for occidental countries.
    • In Greek Mythology, Hades' helm gave the ability to become invisible, and the god later lent it to Perseus in order to slay Medusa. Coincidentally, Fusion Hades and Gravity Perseus share the same spin-track (AD145) and their respective owners, Pluto and Julian Konzern, woreear similar outfits.
