Poison Gas Mask (毒ガス仮面 Doku Gasu Kamen, 1, 4, 5) was the gas mask-themed Masked Monster of the Black Cross Army and a recurring antagonist in Himitsu Sentai Gorenger: being a featured antagonist in the 1st episode and the main antagonist of the 5th.
He was voiced by the late Eiji Maruyama who previously voiced Skull Mask and several other Masked Monsters in Gorenger, Shine in J.A.K.Q. and also later voiced Dora Cockatrice in Zyuranger and Mandiger in Gingaman.

Past[]
The Black Cross Army was founded by an enigmatic figure known as the Black Cross Führer at an unknown point. The Führer gathered a coalition of despots, warlords and criminal gangs to form the most powerful paramilitary organization with the goal of conquering the world. As such, Bronze Mask was created as a cyborg to serve the Black Cross Army as its muscle.
Goranger[]
After the UN forms EAGLE to oppose the Black Cross Army, the Black Cross Führer sends Poison Gas Mask and four other Masked Monsters to lead battalions of Zolders in assaulting EAGLE bases and massacring everyone inside. He is first seen when he and his Zolders storm the Kansai EAGLE Base and asphyxiate everyone there except for Kenji Asuka. Believing EAGLE to be neutralised, the Führer announces the next stage of the Black Cross Army's worldwide operation but the Gorangers emerge to oppose them and kill Gold Mask.
Poison Gas Mask's scheme was to use an underground gas factory to create his poison gas for hurting people. Kaijo and Asuka discover the factory but the Masked Monster avoid their attack outside one slight hit from Akarenger's Red Bute that hits his helmet, using that as an excuse to further develop his "immortality". Asuka becomes obsessed in defeating Poison Gas Mask, who further riles him up by attacking the spies and then sneaking into Snack Gon to investigate. Midorenger challenges him and loses due to his immortality ability, torturing him until he forces the other Gorenger to save him. In a final showdown, Asuka discovers the trick to Poison Gas Mask's ability, flipping nibly until he finally hits him from behind with a Midorang. Disoriented, Poison Gas Mask was easily dispatched by a Gorenger Storm.
Personality[]
Poison Gas Mask was a ruthless, psychopathic, remorseless and vile monster, who will stop at nothing to get rid of the Gorengers and help his master Black Cross Fuhrer achieve total global world domination and initiate the genocide of the human race. Overall, Poison Gas Mask showed few emotions, being a cold, calculating and misanthropic entity, who was determined to finish his mission and spread his poison gas over Japan but he still had a few lines and dialogues and showed little to no emotions and feelings. He was shown to be heavily and completely loyal to his master Fuhrer and loyally enforced his orders, albeit it should be noted that it's unclear whether he was indeed loyal to Black Cross or was merely programmed to unquestionably enforcing his orders.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Genius Intellect: Poison Gas Mask was a genius inventor, being able to modify his suit for many effects.
- Instant Teleportation: Poison Gask Mask claimed to be immortal since all attacks seemed to miss but he was actually just instantly teleporting around.
- Gas Blasts: Poison Gask Mask could shoot gas from his gask mask's respirator to asphyxiate people.
- Fighting Skills: While he relies mostly on his poison gas but he was shown to be as a quite capable fighter, albeit arguably not the greatest one.
- Superhuman Agility: Poison Gas Mask can jump incredibly high.
Weaknesses[]
- Disorientation: Although he could instantly teleport around attacks, when disoriented, Poison Gas Mask would be completely exposed and easy to kill.
Arsenal[]
- Wrist Rockets: Poison Gask Mask had rockets strapped to his wrist that he could use to blast his enemies with. He typically used this in conjunction with his gas blasts, making it very effective.
- Gas Mask: Poison Gas Mask could use his gas mask to shoot gas out of the filter to asphyxiate his victims.
