Pol Secura is the secondary antagonist of the Twilight quadrilogy in the comic series Star Wars: Republic. He is a key member of the glitteryll conspiracy, the uncle of Jedi Aayla Secura and the chief of Clan Secura.
Biography[]
After his niece Aayla's father died, Pol sold her to the local Hutt after promising to take care of her. He later discovered how much money he could earn by smuggling endangered animals and began a shady business venture. He was discovered after Jedis Quinlan Vos and Tholme were sent to investigate and witnessed a wampa he had sold to the aforementioned Hutt escape. He agreed to let Aayla be trained as a Jedi out of regret.
31 BBY[]
In 31 BBY, Secura was approached by a republic senator named Chom Frey Kaa, who had invented an amnesia-inducing drug named glitteryll and asked Secura to smuggle it onto the black market to be sold. The republic discovered his activities again and sent Quinlan and Aayla, who had become Quin's Padawan, to investigate. Not wanting to kill Aayla, Secura had Asanté Vos stun her and feed her and Quin glitteryll to wipe their memories. Having done this, Asanté and Secura dumped Quin on the planet Nar Shaddaa and made Aayla a dancer at Secura's estate. However, Quin regained some of his memories and returned to Ryloth. Secura pretended not to know where Aayla was and showed Quin to his accommodation. After this, he and Asanté received a message from Chom Frey telling them to kill Quin.
After discovering the truth about the conspiracy, Quin confronted Secura and tortured him with force lightning to make him reveal Aayla's whereabouts. At this point, Secura revealed that Aayla was in the room with the rest of the dancers. Quin then demanded the name of Secura's patron, the financial backer of the glitteryll plot. Secura refused to tell him on the grounds that he would be killed if he did. However, Quin told him that he would kill him if he didn't tell him, resulting in Chom Frey Kaa finally being revealed. Quin then tried to kill Secura anyway, resulting in Aayla throwing Quin with the Force to stop him from killing her uncle, ironically causing Secura to fall off a balcony and die anyway.
