Pongo is a minor antagonist in the 2021 animated film The Addams Family 2. He is hired alongside Mr. Mustela by Cyrus Strange to retrieve Wednesday Addams.
He was voiced by Ted Evans.
Biography[]
Pongo was cellmates and good friends with Lurch at a mental asylum in New Jersey, before Lurch was found by Gomez and Morticia. Pongo later became a henchman of Cyrus Strange. He is first seen with Mr. Mustela in a car following the Addams family. Mustela tells Pongo that they would be fired if they were not successful, giving him an entire bottle of mints shortly after. They reappear at Niagara Falls, where they continue to pursue the Addams but the family jumps into the water in barrels.
Pongo and Mustela appeared a while after this on a scooter, where Pongo is able to get Mustela close enough so that he can get onto the Addams' car. Gomez suggests the family play "Punch Buggy", which causes Lurch to punch Mustela's face (who was looking in at them through a window). He flies back and blinds Pongo, causing them to careen into a pile of mud. The two continue to follow them until the Addams arrived at the "Alamo Inn". They inspect the Addams family car, but figure out the family had gone inside of the building and begin searching for Wednesday at the pageant, where Pongo warns Lurch with a look that Wednesday is in danger.
During Wednesday's confrontation with Cyrus at his home, Cyrus summons Pongo to kill Lurch, but the two hug each other and team up against Cyrus. Wednesday then explains their history. Pongo grabs Cyrus and throws him to Lurch, who folds him like a ball. Lurch and Pongo play basketball and soccer with him, before Pongo kicks him into the glass, breaking it and freeing the Addams family. Pongo watches with the Addams as Uncle Fester battles and defeats Cyrus, both mutated. Pongo joins the Addams when they return home, being friends with Lurch again.
