Preacher is a minor antagonist in the Ukrainian FPS Survival Horror video game S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call Of Pripyat.
Preacher is the fanatical leader of a large Monolith squad in the city of Prypiat.
Personality[]
The Preacher appears as devoted to the Monolith fanatic. And not just a regular fanatic but as a extreme fanatic. At that point in time, it was already discovered that the "Monolith" is a lie created by C-Consciousness, and many members of the Monolith escaped the influence of C-Consciousness, but the Preacher seems to be too devoted to the Monolith for him to easily escape.
Not only that, but the Preacher keeps his squad under the influence of a now-destroyed Monolith, months after the initially discovery, thus preventing the members of his squad to escape the influence. However, the Preacher himself genuinely believes in what he says, and doesn't keep his squad's fanaticism out of malice.
Appearance[]
The Preacher wears a protective suit that slightly reminds an exoskeleton, but without the tubes and with Monolith colors on them.
Biography[]
The Preacher just like any other member of the Monolith was exposed to brainwashing by C-Consciousness, which turned him into a fanatic. The Preacher is implied to be a high-ranked member of the fraction, due to his ability to preach the Monolith teachings. In 2012, Strelok destroyed C-Consciousness and the Wish Granter. However, the Preacher remained loyal and kept spreading the Monolith teachings to his men.
In august 2012, the Military launched an operation "Fairway" consisting of 5 attack helicopters aimed at taking control over Prypiat and the Chernobyl NPP. However the operation ended with failure. Security Service of Ukraine sent Major Degtyarev to investigate the reasons behind the failure. Eventually, Degtyrev find the remaining soldiers of the failed operation. Kovalsky, the leader of the first assault group, assumes that the reason behind the failure is a mysterious powerful weapon. Kovalsky sends Degtyrev to Captain Tarasov, who will lead a strike team in order to capture the unidentified weapon.
Alexey Degtyrev alongside Tarasov's Group encounters the Monolith squad at the Hospital. As the fight begins, the Preacher appears on the rooftop of the hospital and immediately kills one of Tarasov's men, Morozov. Many more Monolith militants appears to fight Degtyrev and Tarasov's Group, with the Preacher broadcasting propaganda and prayers for the. Ultimately, Degtyrev and Tarasov's men defeat the Monolithians, with Degtyrev killing the Preacher.
After Preacher's demise, he falls from the rooftop. Degtyrev retrieves the unidentified weapon. which is revealed to be the Gauss Gun.
Powers & Skills[]
- Leadership: The Preacher keeps the members of his squad in touch with the "Monolith", months after the discovery that the Monolith is actually a lie. Which makes matters worse, is that the Preacher himself doesn't understand it.
- Electromagnetic Blasts: The Preacher uses a Gauss Gun, which allows him to take down people in exoskeleton and even vehicles.
