Predaking is a minor antagonist in the Transformers franchise. The original version was the combined form of the Predacons. In the Generation One cartoon, he was voiced by the late Bud Davis, who also voiced Dirge.

Generation One[]

Cartoon[]

Predaking debuted during the climax of "Five Faces of Darkness", the third season opener. After the Decepticons and Quintessons despatched the Predacons to stop Blurr, Wheelie and Marissa Fairborne getting Metroplex's transformation cog to Earth, they forced Predaking for the first time but were defeated by Sky Lynx.

With the Predacons continuing to serve among Galvatron's troops, Predaking was often deployed into action. He again fought Sky Lynx in "Chaos", while in "The Quintesson Journal" he was so eager to battle him again that he forgot the Decepticons' primary mission to recover a Quintesson record.

In "Call of the Primitives", he fought alongside fellow combiner Abominus before they and several other Transformers were abducted by Tornedron. Predaking ended up being used against Primacron but was drained of energy like most of the other Transformers involved.

He made his last appearance in "The Return of Optimus Prime", in which the Predacons formed Predaking to hunt down Galvatron after being infected by the Hate Plague.

Marvel Comics[]

Predaking first appeared in the UK exclusive story "Prey", in which Megatron enlisted the Predacons to help him hunt Optimus Prime. They formed Predaking to attack Optimus, but, as per their orders from Shockwave, ended up abandoning Megatron mid-battle.

Predaking's only appearance in the Marvel US title was in Issue #25, when Shockwave had the Predacons pose as Autobots to attack an unstable and amnesiac Megatron. Megatron managed to defeat Predaking, but the experience caused him to trigger off a space bridge explosion and apparently be killed. The Predacons continued to appear until Issue #50, when they were all deactivated by the Underbase-powered Starscream, meaning Predaking ceased to exist as well.
