The Predators are major antagonists in the Roblox tower defense game Tower Defense X. They appear to be cyborg zombies that serve as recurring minibosses in the game.
Appearance[]
Main[]
The Predator itself is a cybernetic zombie, it has a pale green skin and wears dark blue pants with a belt. It's chest has a reactor core embedded on it with pipes connecting from the back. It has a red metallic head with one eye and a crooked jaw. It's right arm is entirely modified with red armor and a built-in arm cannon with a bullet cylinder on it, and has three mechanical fingers.
Snow[]
The Snow Predator resembles it's original counterpart, only for it's color scheme to be altered into more light blue-ish, which is suited for winter combat.
Corrupted[]
The Corrupted Predators appear to be more deformed and has organic elements as a result of the modifications by the Engineer. It has a purple color palette across it's body, and wears a dark, bushy pant. It has remnants of the original's core component. It's right arm appears to be replaced with a monstrous arm with sharp claws, and it's left arm is more cybernetic with exposed piping. It's head has a purple one eye, and a hole crack on the top left.
Hunter[]
The Hunter has a completely robotic appearance, having white-colored armor with spiked shoulder pads. It's arm cannons are equipped on both arms. It's head has a skull-like motif with three red eyes.
Biography[]
There are four types of Predators that were created so far, such as the normal Predator, it's snow variant, the Hunter, Destructor, and the strongest one being the Apex Predator.
Predators are one of known enemies to be able to attack towers, alongside major bosses. Most Predators (and Hunter) are equipped with arm cannons in combat, while Apex Predator and Destructor are armed with more weapons such as an improved arm cannons, in addition to a flamethrower and an axe bazooka.
Intermediate Mode[]
The Predator makes it's first appearance on Wave 29 of Intermediate Mode, appearing in the army of zombies. It is known for being the first miniboss/enemy that can attack your towers, the Advisor explains that this enemy's attacks can be baited in order to prevent losing your valuable towers. It appears before the Eradicator MK 1 makes its way as the final boss of the said mode.
Expert Mode (New and Legacy)[]
Two of the Predators makes their appearance in this mode, appearing in Wave 29, before Phoebus, Zeus and Artemis. However, in the old version of the Expert Mode, three of them would appear in Wave 30.
Endless Mode[]
The Predators also appear in Endless Mode, starting in Wave 35 along with an Eradicator MK I and Avatars. They later re-appear through Apex Predator's summons in Wave 70, along with it's Snow counterpart in addition to introducing the Hunters, one of the exclusive bosses to appear in this mode.
Nightmare Mode[]
Nightmare Mode introduces two new bosses of the lineup, being Jager and Alpha Predator. Alpha Predator would appear in Wave 45 as a major boss before Emperor approaches.
Trivia[]
- The Hunter and the Destructor were confirmed to be part of the Predator boss lineup. This is further supported by the similar design to the normal Predator.
- The unused design in the concept art of Predators shows that they were meant to be some sort of killer robots with no zombie elements.
- So far, the normal Predator is the only miniboss to have a health bar.
- The Predator bosses' designs resembles to that of ReAnimens from Invincible comic book series and its animated adaptation. Both possess a cyclops-like eye on their heads, and being created as cybernetic undead soldiers for combat
