Charles Xavier, also known as President X is the main antagonist of the controversial two-part comic Marvel Ruins, written by Warren Ellis and published by Marvel Comics. He is an alternate version of the original 616 Professor X and resides on Earth-9591.

On Earth-9591, he is instead a corrupt and cruel tyrannical president of The United States and is solely responsible for some of the horrific events throughout the comic.

Biography[]

Unlike his Earth-616 Counterpart, Xavier never founded Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters and is heavily implied to not be mutant, though it is theorized that he indeed does have Telepathy which explains his ability to track down various mutants across America with ease. However, at some point, he was elected President and immediately moved the White House to Westchester, plunging Washington D.C. into chaos and disarray as a result. Due to his awful government, cruelty and tyrannical rule, many people protested against his rule including the young billionaire Anthony Stark. In retaliation, Xavier sends the National Guard to violently oppress and intimidate the protestors, injuring Stark in the process.

This led to the formation of a revolutionary group called The Avengers led by Anthony Stark going under the moniker Iron Man after constructing his armor. However, Xavier orders a patriot missile to be struck at The Avengers' Quinjet, killing all the members inside which includes Iron Man himself, Captain America, Thor Odinson, Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne after Wanda Maximoff sells them out for government protection. Xavier at the same time would then also set up a prison in Texas for him to hunt down and imprison various mutants there under miserable and inhumane conditions. It is heavily implied that he despises mutants for an unknown reason, he even labels them as "paranormals" to further discriminate and dehumanize them.

Xavier would frequently visit the mutants in the prison, at times he would stare and observe their behavior while at other times, he would intimidate and taunt them up to the point of making them cry and vomit in disgust. Aside from unlawfully imprisoning the mutants, he would also heavily mutilate and deform them to have them under his control in the prison. At some point, a dying journalist named Phil Sheldon requests permission and clearance from Xavier to visit the prison at Texas. Wanting to fulfill a dying man's wish, he approves and orders the prison warden Wilson Fisk to guide him in the prison.

Personality[]

President X is the polar opposite of his original 616 version, being a completely wrathful, sadistic, cruel, and megalomaniacal tyrant who desired full control over everyone around him. His sadism and cruelty takes center stage when Wilson Fisk reveals to Phil Sheldon that Xavier would psychologically abuse the imprisoned, mutilated mutants during some of his visits. Xavier's wrath also holds no bounds as he would order the National Guard to oppress his protestors, even killing some of them as well as ordering a missile strike at The Avengers, killing all the members as a result.

Despite his ruthlessness, he does appear to care for his subordinate Warren Worthington III despite being aware that he is a mutant, even going so far as to keeping it a secret. He also has an honorable side, such as sparing Wanda Maximoff of imprisonment after she gave him information of The Avengers. He gave his blessing to a dying Phil Sheldon to visit the prison in Texas to fulfill a dying man's wish, proving that he is not completely heartless.

Trivia[]

President X by far is the evilest version of Professor X so far in existence.
Although unconfirmed, it's possible that he was behind the nuclear assault and later imprisonment of the Kree Liberation Force. If this was confirmed, it would make President X even more heinous than he is currently.
