Biography[]
Early Lives and Crimes[]
Pretorius was created by the Office of State Security in the interest of squashing efforts to abolish apartheid by violent killings of activists. For an excuse, the group found Constable Sara Miller patrolling the Azaria District and jumped her. Coetzee wanted to shoot her, but Rowan suggested a fake ritual murder to frame the activists and black South Africans, so Armand pierced Sara's brain with an ice pick. She was then mutilated and posed akin to a traditional being in Zulu religion, an umkovu, by ripping her corpse with a rake, dressing her in clay, and splitting her tongue down the center. An activist named David Lubbe was framed for the crime, and he was later murdered in prison. With the false flag, Pretorius tortured fourteen activists to death, before apartheid was officially abolished. The Truth and Reconciliation Committee absolved and immunized the trio of the activists' murders, the ones the government knew about, and they would marry and have children. Rowan lived in Pretoria and had a daughter named Lara, but he had an affair and had a son named Kurt Adams. Smit settled in the U.S. state of Georgia, married a woman named Camille, and had two sons, Timothy and Brandon. Noah Coetzee lived in Bloemfontein, his daughter Lydia expectant with a baby to be delivered very soon. Rowan found out he was dying of cancer, so in 2015, he decided to confess everything, with proof, to Curtis Miller, Sara's brother, her only living family and the one who was must traumatized by her murder. Instead of forgiveness, Miller was enraged and sought revenge on the group, hoping to kill their families as poetic justice for taking Sara from the Miller family. Miller lobotomized Bosch and held him captive for later use, then proceeded to kill Lara in a mock-up of Sara's murder as a message.
"Iqiniso"[]
Miller killed Timothy and kidnapped Brandon to torture him, then killed Kurt and left him to be found in gang territory. All the places the children were found were in the Azaria District, as a threat to the group about Sara's murder. Smit realized what was going on, but to protect himself, he continuously kept quiet. Coetzee was extremely nervous from seeing the murders on the news, and when Lydia asked about them, he lied he never knew the people mentioned on the reports. By the time Pretorius crimes were confirmed, down to their false flag, Miller broke into Coetzee's home, stabbed with a rake, and said he knew what he'd done. After dropped his denial, Coetzee pleaded for some sort of deal, but Miller said he'd just watch his daughter and unborn grandchild die. Brandon and Rowan were rescued from his hideout, and Agent Ross Montgomery again interrogated the Smits back home. When Armand furiously threatened a lawsuit, Camille herself remembered Coetzee by name and hometown. When Lydia returned, Miller threatened her baby with a knife and made Coetzee confess to Sara's murder in front of her. When the IRT and Johannesburg Met Police arrived, they tried to insist there was a way to punish the group. Miller didn't believe them, so Agent Matthew Simmons fought with him over the knife, which impaled Miller and fatally bled him to death. The team, however, did make good on their promise, as Coetzee was arrested for Sara's murder, which the national government agreed there was legal grounds for. Armand, given the cold shoulder by Brandon when he returned home, was also arrested and arranged for extradition. The two living members were incarcerated, and it's presumed Rowan died.
