Priere is the main protagonist of the video game La Pucelle: Tactics and a supporting antagonist in the Disgaea series.
She was voiced by Jennifer Hale in English.
Personality[]
As a human, Priere is a rough and crass girl, however, the care she feels for the people, animals and world around her are real to the point of going against her Church's teachings in order to protect innocent animals.
As an Overlord, Priere cares for nothing but battling other people for fun and to become stronger to the point of enslaving a Netherworld and having its inhabitants go off to find strong opponents for her. It is noted that she does regret becoming an Overlord but she knows that she can't stop.
Biography[]
Past[]
Priere was an orphan who was left at the Church of the Holy Maiden with her younger brother after their parents' deaths.
While working at the church, she began to train as a Saint until she could become the Maiden of Light, a Saint who is known for being the most divine Saint of all.
La Pucelle: Tactics[]
Priere works for the Church of the Holy Maiden, working as a Saint who battles against monsters in order to save people and to put ghosts to rest.
In the Overlord Priere ending, Priere would defeat 100 Overlords and as such her body and mind would be transformed into a demonic Overlord and from then on, she would be known as Overlord Priere. This ending is seemingly canon to the Disgaea series.
La Pucelle: Ragnarok[]
In the enhanced version of La Pucelle: Tactics, there is an additional story for Priere becoming Overlord Priere.
Due to the jealousy of learning that Alouette was already the Maiden of Light, a dark part of Priere's heart started to manipulate her, putting Priere down a path where she would turn into an Overlord and making her attack Alouette.
After becoming Overlord Priere, Priere sees her friends as Demons to attack, however, the light part of her heart wakes her up, seeing through the illusion and saving her friends. From that day onwards, Priere swears to save the world as the Dark Saint, promising never to let her darkness overtake her again.
Disgaea Series[]
Throughout the Disgaea series, Priere would appear to challenge the protagonists, wishing to fight them for the fun of it. It is stated by Etna that it is rare that anyone survives the battles against her.
