“ | How dare you soiling my name! You... you miserable wretch! I'm back to put an end to your reign of cruelty! | „ |
~ Prince towards Butcher. |
“ | You, too, old man, want to claim my throne?! I own it by birthright! No one shall take it from me! | „ |
~ The Haunted Prince towards Sensei. |
The Prince is the main antagonist of the Old Wounds storyline of Shadow Fight 2: Special Edition. He is the ruler of Ivory City, a city located near the Gates of Shadows. One day, he met Widow, a woman who fell in love with him. However, he rejected her feelings and humiliated her, which broke her heart to the point she started seeking revenge against him by manipulating Shogun, his right-hand man by promising him a magical Sphere that grants great power but also brainwashes the user to her will, planning to rule over all men. After escaping from a bandit hired by Shogun to kidnap him, he was attacked by Lynx and his assassin associates, who attempted to kill him but were stopped after Prince stumbled upon Sensei, who stopped the assassins and aided the betrayed Prince in taking revenge on Shogun and, unbeknownst to him, helping him get the Sphere.
Appearance[]
Prince wears a purple royal dress and has white hair and green eyes. He also bears some resemblance to Shadow, the main character of the game, with Prince's former subjects mistaking him for Prince and Widow being interested in him due to this.
While possessed by the Sphere, Prince's eyes are glowing purple.
Personality[]
“ | Hee-Hee! Look at Prince taking to his heels! You should've seen your face, old man. See-----your new friend is a spineless liar! | „ |
~ Butcher to Sensei about Prince's true nature. |
At first, Prince appears to be a grateful and nice person, thanking Sensei and calling him a noble person for saving him from Lynx. However, after Butcher reveals the deal they made in exchange for Prince's freedom and location of the Sphere, he cowardly tries to play victim by insulting the bandit and claiming he is soiling his name, with Sensei expressing disappointment after he realizes his true colors. His true nature is even further revealed after he is possessed by the Sphere, being a paranoid megalomaniac who believes that everyone, including his former friend Sensei, wants to take his throne and that he rules the Ivory City by birthright. Widow also claims that he insulted and humilated her feelings for him, which broke her heart so badly she became a murderous femme fatale.
His reception in the Ivory City as of the main storyline of the game varies, with Corporal, Captain and Major (Shogun's first three bodyguards) being shocked and happy to see him "return", especially Major (while in reality, they actually mistook Shadow, the main character of the story, as him), while Shogun & his last two bodyguards (Colonel and General) hate him and want him dead. Shogun also claims he is greedy and incompetent, asking "him" if he "found another realm to ruin with [his] greed and incompetence".
Biography[]
Prince was the ruler of Ivory City, which was located near the mysterious portal to the other world known as the Gates of Shadows, while a man known as Shogun served him as his right-hand man and warlord. One day, the Prince met a woman known as Widow, who fell in love with him. He rejected her and insulted her feelings, which broke her heart and made her hate all men.
Desiring revenge, Widow manipulated Shogun into betraying the Prince after she promised him a magical Sphere that grants its wielder great power. Unbeknownst to him, the Sphere will also turn him into her slave.
Shogun hires a bandit known as Butcher to kidnap his former master. However Prince manages to escape by promising him money in exchange for freedom and location of the Sphere. Prince escapes but is pursued by an assassin known as Lynx and his associates, who were hired by Hermit, a master of martial arts who made a deal with Shogun to kill the Prince in exchange for the permission to train Prince's soldiers.
Shadow Fight 2[]
Old Wounds[]
Part 1: The Witness[]
Running from assassins, Prince bumps into an old master of martial arts known as Sensei, who protects him from them. He thanks the old man for saving him and tells him about Hermit and how he was kidnapped but escaped thanks to luck. Sensei then decides to follow him in his quest to get revenge on the traitors.
Part 2: Shadow of the Future[]
Prince and Sensei meet Hermit, who admits he hired Lynx to kill him for his school's future and safety. Sensei defeats Hermit, who then tells them the location of Butcher, the Prince's kidnapper.
Part 3: The Beast Within[]
They arrive to Butcher, who greets the Prince, who asks him if he remembers the deal they made earlier. Prince denies having any deal with him, with Sensei being disappointed that Prince was lying to him. Butcher and his gang then attacks Sensei, with Prince using this as a chance to escape and head to get the Sphere. Butcher then tells Sensei the truth about Prince, and the old man heads to the port where the ship containing the Sphere is going to arrive.
Part 4: The Story of Revenge[]
The Prince is mentioned by Wasp, who reveals his and Widow's past to Sensei.
Part 5: Humiliated and Insulted[]
Prince arrives to Widow's hiding place and takes the Sphere, which causes him to lose his mind. Shogun tries to stop him, but he is brainwashed by Prince, who plans to execute him in a place where he and Widow first met.
Sensei then arrives to Widow's hiding place, where Widow, who doesn't trust him, attacks him. Defeated, she reveals what happened to the Prince.
Part 6: The Monster[]
Sensei arrives to the place where Prince is hiding. The haunted ruler greets him, and says that justice has triumphed and that Shogun is loyal to him again. Sensei defeats the warlord, and then tries to reason with the Haunted Prince, but to no avail. Prince, who believes that Sensei wants to take his throne, attacks him, but gets defeated before he can cause more harm. Following the battle, Ancient, a mysterious entity who arrived from the Gates of Shadows, stops time and claims the Sphere, while telling a surprised Sensei to sleep, saying that no one will remember his feat and that he will understand why one day.
The Prince was later successfully executed by Shogun and his conspirators, this time because of Prince's greed and incompetence ruining the Ivory City. Shogun then executes the conspirators to seize power.
Main Storyline[]
Despite Prince's death, he still has an impact in the fifth and sixth acts, mainly because of Widow, Shogun and Shogun's Bodyguards initially mistaking Shadow, the main character of the game, for Prince. This mistaken identity may have even been the reason for Emperor's belief that Ivory City was "his by right" during Chapter 3 of Act 7, as that Shadow was corrupted by the Shadow Energy & called the Prince for so long.
