Prince of Vampires

The Prince of Vampires is a villain from the Mickey Mouse shorts season 4 special, The Scariest Story Ever: A Mickey Mouse Halloween Spooktacular! He is a fictional character from the second story segment told by Mickey, Donald and Goofy.

He was voiced by Chris Diamantopoulos, who also voiced Mickey and his nephews, Morty and Ferdie Fieldmouse.

Appearance

The Prince of Vampires appears as a anthropomorphic dog with razor-sharp teeth and bat wing-like ears, and wears 18th century noble attire. As a bat, he maintains a similar face.

Personality

The Prince is personified as a force of pure evil; ruthless to everyone, especially to those who dare to challenge him.

Abilities and Powers

The Prince possesses all the typical powers of a vampire, including telekinesis, bat transformation, super-strength and the ability to turn others into vampires with a bite. He also has the usual weaknesses like garlic, stakes to the heart and sunlight.

History

In the special, Mickey attempted to tell Huey, Dewey, Louie, Morty and Ferdie a scary story involving Frankenstein's Monster, but after failing to frighten them due to adding his own cheerful spin on things, he then tells the nephews another story along with Donald and Goofy.

Set in the renaissance period, the world was under siege by the Prince of Vampires, who desired absolute control over all mankind. However, three men were brave enough to face the monster and destroy him: the vampire hunter, Van Mousing (Mickey's character who is based on Abraham Van Helsing) and his partners, Dipworth Goofington III (Goofy's character) and Drake McQuack (Donald's character). They reach the prince's castle and find a labyrinth made from bones of the prince's previous victims. Not wanting to have to traverse the maze, McQuack broke through the walls with his baseball bat. They then found two bloodthirsty werewolves guarding the entrance into the castle, but Goofington was able to eliminate them by tricking them into drinking extremely spicy hot sauce, causing them to explode. McQuack then knocked down the door leading into the palace. They approached the Prince's coffin where he slept. After opening it and finding his seemingly dead body, Mousing asks Goofington to hand him the garlic, but he reveals to have eaten them already.

During the commotion, the Prince awakes, disappears from his casket and appears behind the heroes, angry that someone dared to enter his domain to challenge him. He then telekinetically fixes the door, sealing the exit and proceeds to attack the intruders. They dodge him and Mousing pins him to a wall by his cape with wooden bolts, but he turns into a bat and escapes. He attacks Mousing while dodging his bolts, but he dodges, so the Prince turns and chases Goofington. McQuack knocks the Prince away with his bat and prepares to finish him, but the Prince evades, causing McQuack to get knocked out. The Prince prepares to much down on Drake's neck like a hotdog, but Goofington stops him by grabbing his nose with tonsils. The Prince then turns back into his real form, seething with anger at his ruined nose. Goofington attempts to appease him by fixing it, but to no avail. The Prince attempts to bite Goofington's neck, but he disorients the vampire with his garlic breath. Mousing then tries to finish it with a wooden stake, but the Prince grabs him and tosses him away. Seeing his watch, Mousing realizes that the sun had risen and runs to the curtains to unveil them, but then Prince catches and pins him down, preparing to feast on his jugular vein. Goofington and McQuack ambush the monster to save their friend. He tosses them aside as well, but their distraction allows Mousing to escape and reach the curtains. He tears them down and allows the morning sun to shed its light on the Prince of Vampires, reducing him to dust.

Goofington and McQuack rejoice at their victory, but were then horrified to learn that Mousing had already been bitten on the neck during the fight, turning him into a vampire. However, the nephews totally saw this coming and were not impressed in the slightest.
