Princess Iron Fan is a major antagonist turned supporting character of the LEGO Monkie Kid franchise. She is a core member of the Demon Bull family, being the wife of the Demon Bull King (DBK for short) and the mother of Red Son. Together with her husband and she devises numerous plans to take over the world and reclaim the power they lost when the Bull King was sealed by the legendary Monkey King, Sun Wukong.
Along with Red Son she was also responsible for releasing the Bull King back into the mortal realm by stealing Wukong's Golden Staff, setting the events of the series into motion. Though she initially posed a serious threat to the main characters, her villainous role subsided as the series progressed, becoming less of an antagonist and occasionally joining forces with Wukong's succesor MK and his team of heroes. She is based on the character of Princess Iron Fan from the original Journey to the West.
She is voiced by Gwendoline Yeo, who also voiced Yuma Lau in Far Cry 4, Lady Shiva in Young Justice and Mercy Graves in The Batman.
Appearance[]
Once a celestial, Princess Iron Fan is a beautiful woman with a human appearance in contrast with her husband and other demons or supernatural beings portrayed in the series. She wears a red and black dress. She has long black hair with part of it done into a bun while the sides are made to resemble a bull's horns (to honor her husband) and a couple of loops hanging near her ears. She uses red lipstick and has a beauty mark below her right eye.
Personality[]
Cold and intelligent, Princess Iron Fan is presented as a ruthless leader who is completely devoted to her husband and his cause. She is much more serious about her position than her son, as evident from the way she chastises him over his screw-ups, and she even comes closer to effectively killing MK during their first battles. Although she wasn't exactly born a demon, Princess Iron Fan pretty much embraces being one, being especially harsh and bitter in her villainy as opposed to Red Son who is somewhat comedic and insecure.
Despite her evil traits, Princess Iron Fan's love for her family is genuine, as she is shown to be deeply in love with DBK and tries to be a good mother for Red Son. This plays a part in her becoming a better person in later seasons, with her priorities being taking care of her family rather than world domination.
