Princess Pride is a human operator in the Mega Man Battle Network series. She operates KnightMan.EXE and acts as the princess of Creamland, though she did affiliate with Gospel temporarily to bring her nation back to its former glory.

History

Mega Man Battle Network 2

In this game, she infiltrates an ONBA conference set up to discuss plans to defend against attacks from Gospel. Unbeknownst to the other members there, she was specifically sent by Gospel to infiltrate into the meeting. In the middle of it, all of the attendants fall into dungeon traps. She plays along with this at first, appearing as a victim to not raise suspicion. This works well enough to trick Lan and Chaud into believing each other to be the Gospel spy. This goes as far as Chaud attempting to arrest Lan. However, after Lan and MegaMan defeats Chaud and ProtoMan in a netbattle, the two continue to beleive each other to be a Gospel spy until Raoul notifies them both that Princess Pride was not actually harmed by her traps. Lan then goes to apprehend Princess Pride, and defeats her and KnightMan in a NetBattle. When this happens, she attempts to activate a trap under Lan, but accidentally activates one underneath her own feet, leading to serious injuries. The authorities took her to a hospital before apprehending her.

Chaud mentions a possible motivation for these actions. Creamland was one of the first nations to use modern computing technology as the world knows it today. It was a world leader for that time as a result. However, as it is a smaller nation, larger nations caught up to it and left it in the dust after making use of their technology. Princess Pride may have joined Gospel to exact revenge against these other nations and take back their former advantage in the world of cybertechnology.

Mega Man Battle Network 5: Team Colonel

By the time Battle Network 5 takes place, Princess Pride has turned over a new leaf. She is seen in a mining operation in Oran Island for MagnoMetal. During this mining operation, KnightMan goes berserk, though MegaMan helps in bringing him back. After this, Princess Pride and KnightMan join Team Colonel, acting as protagonists for the game.

Mega Man NT Warrior

In the anime, Princess Pride is a hero from the start. She first appears disguised as a boy named Whip to escape her royal duties. Later, Lan helps her save her country from NapalmMan.EXE after he infiltrates the country and uses mind control to make KnightMan.EXE go berzerk.

In Rockman.EXE Stream, Pride becomes capable of Cross Fusion and appears as a recurring character.
