Professor Nutty Nut-Meg, also known as the The Professor, is the main antagonist of DreamWorks Classics' Felix the Cat franchise.
He is not always an outright malicious individual, but he sees Felix as a source of constant fascination due to his obsession with Felix's magical bag of tricks.
He was voiced by the late Jack Mercer in the 1959 cartoons, Chris Phillips in the movie. Jason Merden in Felix the Cat Saves Christmas, and in the Baby Felix and Friends anime he was voiced by Don Oriolo in the English Version, while Toshiyuki Morikawa voiced him in the Japanese Version.
Biography[]
A mad scientist by trade, the Professor will stop at nothing to steal Felix's bag of tricks and has fought the mischievous feline on numerous occasions, though the two are not always outright enemies. The Professor is the uncle of Poindexter but unlike his nephew, he seems to prefer to use his scientific genius for selfish (sometimes outright evil) means, though The Professor can use his genius for good at times. While the Professor is usually an antagonist to Felix, he ends up becoming a reluctant ally of Felix's in the episodes where Poindexter appears because of Poindexter's friendship with Felix.
Occasionally the Professor and Rock Bottom will try to steal something other than Felix's bag of tricks or commit some other evil deed, a notable example of this was in an episode where Felix somehow created a plant that produced solid gold fruit, The Professor was so impressed by this plant that he stole it for himself: during this episode he was also shown as being very greedy with a desire to be rich.
Movie[]
The Professor appeared as supporting protagonist in Felix the Cat: The Movie.
He and his nephew Pointdexter went to the magical and technologically-advanced world of Oriana and came to the aid of Felix in helping the benevolent Princess Oriana and her friends in freeing their home from the evil Duke of Zill.

- They, along with the Scallions and Sly and Gobbo, are the main antagonists of their respective DreamWorks Classics franchises, which in turn owned by the famous DreamWorks Animation (Comcast).
- The Mad Doctor, a character similar to The Professor appeared in The Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat. The character was originally supposed to be The Professor, but it was changed as Don Oriolo (son of Joe Oriolo) was displeased with the redesigns.
