Professor Banzai is a supervillain from The Boys comics.
Biography[]
Not much is known about Professor Banzai except that he was a supe who became a supervillain. He was one day rampaging across the streets in a certain town while the police ineffectually tried to stop him. He goads Homelander into fighting him, possibly hoping to fight and kill him, and he responds by ramming into the supervillain at high speed, killing him instantly.
Afterwards, in order to protect Homelander's image, Vought-American covers up the incident by stating that Banzai killed himself with a self-destruct device and that Homelander tried to stop him.
Trivia[]
- "Banzai" is a war cry that kamikaze fighters yelled out while suicide-bombing their enemies, which coincides with the false representation of Banzai's death.
- It's possible that he was the inspiration for the Amazon TV series character Naquib, since both characters are supervillains and both have the power of self-detonation.
