Think of it. Hitler bent a weakend nation to his will using nothing but raw charisma. All that from a man who only made corporal. A man whom art school wouldn't deign to let in. His charisma appeared after he hit his thirties. Not so with your brother Johan. He was a leader of a man even as a mere boy. Charisma of a messianic proportions. But even Jesus Christ had help. Consider three Magi and John the Baptist who herald the Savior's arrival into the world. How they ready the way for his glory. Likewise, four of us have been keeping track of Johan's talents every since he was a mere boy. Exiting, wouldn't you say?
~ Goedelitz speech to Nina, showing his supremacists ideas.

Professor Günther Goedelitz is a supporting antagonist of the manga and anime series Monster.

He was a renowned professor at Dresden University, but is secretly one of the 4 founders of the Neo-Nazi organization headquartered in Frankfurt. Taking an interest in Johan Liebert, Goedelitz shows the most interest in making him the new leader so that the Nazi regime can be resurrected and spread across the world so that only the superior race of Germans are left in the world.

He was voiced by the late Iemasa Kayumi in Japanese and Douglas Lee in English.

Personality[]

Professor Goedelitz is a fanatical admirer over the Nazi ideology due to it being coincidental towards his supremacist ideals over who deserves to live in the world. His interest seeking to go as far as to restart the entire Nazi regime so he can spread it across the planet, Goedelitz will then take an admiration over Johan, feeling he has Hitler's dark charisma while he was nothing but a young child. Unlike every other figure of power in the Neo-Nazi organization, Goedelitz doesn't have an ounce of genuine regard for others nor any type of redeeming quality. However, Goedelitz's fanaticism over the Nazi ideology also blinds him to ignore any potential flaws in his scheme, biting him back when Johan displays no interest in enforcing a supremacist rule due to him looking down at all lifeforms with equal contempt, leading to his own death.

Biography[]

Professor Goedelitz is a renowned professor at Dresden University. An admirer over the ideology and history of Adolf Hitler, the dictator that had once ruled Germany, Goedelitz joins forces with Peter Čapek, Helmut Wolf & Ernest Sievernich to found a Neo-Nazi organization due to an interest in the dark charisma Johan possesses, having believed him to be the next Hitler. Goedelitz then keeps tabs on him, seekign to sway him to their side and become the organization's new leader so that Goedelitz's plans to restart the Nazi regime and wipe out all the races he deems "inferior" so that only the "superior race" of Germans are all that's left of the world.

When Johan has turned 21, Goedelitz kickstarts the plan to indocrinate Johan by capturing his sister Anna, using her as hostage to lure Johan. He had the Baby to retrieve her and sent her to him. Alongside that day, he and Čapek were masterminding a plot to kill all of the Turks in the city of Frankfurt by setting up a huge fire to burn the entire Turkish district to the ground, in the first step of ushering his new world order. When the Turkish prostitute called Ayse overheard the scheme, Goedelitz had her captured and imprisoned in his mansion before having her drowned to silence all loose ends. Goedelitz finally succeeds in luring in Johan. Unfortunately for Goedelitz, Johan has no interest on becoming his new "Fuhrer" due to him looking down at all life forms at equal contempt. With this, Goedelitz and all of his men were all killed without a second, and his plan to burn down the Turkish district fails thanks to the efforts of Dr. Kenzo Tenma and his allies.
