Biography[]

Before the events of the film, Plum was a psychologist in Washington D.C. He lost his license after being accused of manipulating his female patients into having sex with him. One of his patients informed on Plum to Mr. Boddy, allowing the man to blackmail him.

After getting a letter from Mr. Boddy to visit his secluded house, he meets a troubled Miss Scarlett on the side of the road, after her car breaks down. He gives her a ride to the house. Wadsworth, the butler, tells everyone after dinner that they're all being blackmailed by Mr. Boddy. Boddy then proceeded to give the group weapons, with Plum receiving the revolver. After a threatening speech from Boddy, the lights went out and when they came back on Mr. Boddy was found on the floor. The Professor checked him and declared him dead.

The others briefly accused the professor of killing Mr. Boddy since he had the gun and they heard a gunshot in the dark, but since there was no gunshot wound on the body of Boddy and a bullet sized hole in a nearby wall, it proved that Plum was not the murderer. They then set out to discover who was responsible for Mr. Boddy's abrupt demise.

In Ending C, it's revealed that the professor did indeed take a shot at Mr. Boddy but missed in the darkness. Of course, even as a psychologist and not an MD, he could still tell the difference between a living patient and a dead one. He only declared Boddy dead so he could finish him later. Plum sneaked away while the others were going to the kitchen to look for the cook. Plum found Mr. Boddy in the hallway, actually alive and trying to escape the mansion, and clobbered him with the candlestick, killing him for real this time.

Much later, a Singing Telegram girl showed up at the mansion, whereupon she was immediately shot in the chest and killed by an unseen assailant. When her body was found, Plum identified her as one of his patients who he had molested. Naturally, he was accused of her murder as he had motive to kill her, however he showed this was impossible as he didn't have the pistol.

Wadsworth revealed that he was the one with the pistol and the one who killed the girl. He also revealed himself as the true Mr. Boddy. Plum demanded to know who it was that he had actually killed if not Boddy, and Wadsworth revealed the other Mr. Boddy was actually Wadsworth's butler. At this point, Mr. Green revealed himself as an undercover FBI Agent. Green shot and killed Wadsworth in a duel, then opens the mansion doors for the FBI to come in and arrest everyone else, including Plum.
